Hermann Allmers
Hermann Allmers (11 February 1821, Rechtenfleth – 9 March 1902) was a German poet A poet is a person who studies and creates poetry. Poets may describe themselves as such or be described as such by others. A poet may simply be the creator ( thinker, songwriter, writer, or author) who creates (composes) poems ( oral or wri .... He was an only child, and was privately tutored. He began his career in public education, but took over the family farm after the death of his father in 1849. Through travel, he met a number of influential people who inspired him to take writing seriously, leading to his publication of his ''Marschenbuch'' in 1858. He wrote the poem ''Feldeinsamkeit'' which was then made into a song by Johannes Brahms. Allmers was born in , just north of Sandstedt, and died in Rechtenfleth also. Johannes Brahms
Johannes Brahms (; 7 May 1833 – 3 April 1897) was a German composer, pianist, and conductor of the mid- Romantic period. Born in Hamburg into a Lutheran family, he spent much of his professional life in Vienna. He is sometimes grouped with Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven as one of the "Three Bs" of music, a comment originally made by the nineteenth-century conductor Hans von Bülow. Brahms composed for symphony orchestra, chamber ensembles, piano, organ, violin, voice, and chorus. A virtuoso pianist, he premiered many of his own works. He worked with leading performers of his time, including the pianist Clara Schumann and the violinist Joseph Joachim (the three were close friends).
