Heribert Hirte
Heribert Hirte (born 31 March 1958) is a German legal scholar and politician of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) who served as a member of the Bundestag from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia from 2013 until 2021. Political career Born in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Hirte became a member of the Bundestag in the 2013 German federal election, representing the Cologne II district. He was a member of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Consumer Protection and the Committee on European Affairs. In 2019, he took over as chairman of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Consumer Protection after his predecessor Stephan Brandner was voted out of office by all the other members of the committee. He has also been chairing the Subcommittee on European Law since 2018. The Bundestag (, "Federal Diet") is the German federal parliament. It is the only federal representative body that is directly elected by the German people. It is comparable to the United States House of Representatives or the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. The ''Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger'' (KStA) is a German daily newspaper published in Cologne, and has the largest circulation in the Cologne–Bonn Metropolitan Region. ''Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger'' has a base of over 100 contributing editors and a wide network of correspondents for local and regional news reporting. History The ''Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger'' first appeared in 1876 as a local equivalent of the national ''Kölnische Zeitung'' (''Cologne Gazette''). Toward the end of World War II, both newspapers had to cease publication. In October 1949 the ''Cologne Stadt-Anzeiger'' published again. Norbert Alois Röttgen (born 2 July 1965) is a German lawyer and politician of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU).
