Herbert Meitner ( he, הרברט מייטנר; born 1913) was an Israeli Association football, footballer who played as a Forward (association football), forward for Hapoel Tel Aviv F.C., Hapoel Tel Aviv and Hapoel Rishon LeZion F.C., Hapoel Rishon at club level, and the Mandatory Palestine national football team, Mandatory Palestine national team internationally. Meitner took part in Mandatory Palestine's 1940 Mandatory Palestine v Lebanon football match, last international match against Lebanon national football team, Lebanon in 1940, scoring one goal; it was his only international cap. Forwards (also known as attackers) are outfield positions in an association football team who play the furthest up the pitch and are therefore most responsible for scoring goals as well as assisting them. As with any attacking player, the role of the forward relies heavily on being able to create space for attack. Attacking positions generally favour irrational players who ask questions to the defensive side of the opponent in order to create scoring chances, where they benefit from a lack of predictability in attacking play. Team formations normally include one to three forwards. For example, the common 4–2–3–1 includes one forward. Less conventional formations may include more than three forwards, or none.
