Herbert Edgar Weston
Herbert Edgar Weston (28 October 1874 in Chichester – 21 November 1961 in Twickenham),"The man who never was" by Colin Baker in ''The Postal Stationery Society Journal'', Vol 19 No 3, August 2011, pp.18–20 or H. Edgar Weston, was a stamp dealer in Stockwell, London, then Twickenham, who used the pseudonym Victor Marsh and who purchased Jean-Baptiste Moens' stock of philatelic literature after Moens' retirement in about 1907. Weston claimed to have the world's largest stock of philatelic literature for sale. He was also a prolific producer of philatelic covers using cut-outs from stamped to order postal stationery items. Tête-bêche
In philately, ''tête-bêche'' ( French for "head-to-tail", lit. "head-to-head") is a joined pair of stamps in which one is upside-down in relation to the other, produced intentionally or accidentally. Like any pair of stamps, a pair of ''tête-bêches'' can be a vertical or a horizontal pair. In the case of a pair of triangular stamps, they cannot help but be linked "head-to-tail". Mechanical errors during the process of production can result in ''tête-bêches''. During the printing of stamps for booklets, the pages of stamps are usually printed in multiples from a larger printing plate. This can result in ''tête-bêche'' pairs. Most booklet stamps are printed in sheets, each containing 4 booklets. Looking at such a sheet 2 booklets, one above the other, come in from the left with the other 2 sheets coming from the right which appear to be upside down. Many Marsh covers have addresses created using addressograph plates. Oswald Marsh was not related to Victor Marsh. Stamp dealing Born in Belfast, into a Quaker family, his father Joseph Chandler Marsh, born in Surrey, was an architect practicing in Belfast. Marsh moved to London around 1900 where he had several addresses in the suburb of Norwood. He also briefly had offices at 1 Exeter Street, London W1, around 1914. Marsh appears to have started his stamp business some time after 1900. Stampex
Stampex is a twice yearly British stamp show held at the Business Design Centre (BDC) in Islington, London, every Spring and Autumn. The show is organised by the Philatelic Traders Society (PTS) through their company ''PTS Stamp and Coin Exhibitions Limited'' and has been running for many years. Elements of the show The show consists mainly of stands from stamp dealers who are members of the PTS but specialist philatelic societies often hold meetings in conjunction with the show. Other important parts of the show include a youth area run by the Stamp Active Network, formerly the National Youth Stamp Group, and a large stand from Britain's Royal Mail where recent British stamp issues are on sale. Twickenham is a suburban district in London, England. It is situated on the River Thames southwest of Charing Cross. Historically part of Middlesex, it has formed part of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames since 1965, and the borough council's administrative headquarters are located in the area.
