''Her Marriage Vow'' is a 1924 American Drama (film and television), drama film written and directed by Millard Webb. The film stars Monte Blue, Willard Louis, Beverly Bayne, Margaret Livingston, John Roche (actor), John Roche and Priscilla Moran. The film was released by Warner Bros. on July 20, 1924. Plot As described in a review in a film magazine, Carol Pelham (Bayne) turns down the wealthy idler, Ted Lowe (Roche), and marries a hard-working chap, Bob Hilton (Blue). For seven years their life is happy, even though Carol is kept pretty well confined to her home taking care of it and her two little girls. Millard Webb
Millard Webb (December 6, 1893 – April 21, 1935) was an American screenwriter and director who directed 20 films between 1920 and 1933. His best-known film is the 1926 silent John Barrymore adventure ''The Sea Beast (1926 film), The Sea Beast'', a version of ''Moby Dick'', costarring Dolores Costello. Webb also directed the early sound Florenz Ziegfeld produced talkie ''Glorifying the American Girl'' released by Paramount Pictures, Paramount in 1929. In 1927 he directed ''Naughty but Nice (1927 film), Naughty but Nice'', produced by John McCormick (producer), John McCormick and First National Pictures. His active years were from 1916 to 1933. He was married to Lydia Stocking (1918–1923). Mary Eaton married Webb in 1929, but they separated. He was born in Clay City, Kentucky, U.S., and died in Los Angeles, California of intestinal ailment at the age of 40. Aileen Manning
Aileen Manning (January 20, 1886 – March 25, 1946) was an American film actress. Manning was in demand as a character actress in silent films. She was known for her roles in silent and early talkie films, including ''Uncle Tom's Cabin'' (1927) and ''Huckleberry Finn'' (1931). About her performance in '' Everybody's Sweetheart'' (1920), ''Variety'' wrote that she "makes the character necessarily disagreeable, but true to life". She played Queen Anne in '' A Lady of Quality'' (1924); it was noted that she bore a resemblance to the character she was playing. She played another queen, Elizabeth I, in the MGM short '' The Virgin Queen'' (1928). Manning lived at Hollywood-by-the-Sea. She died on March 25, 1946 in Hollywood. With over 260,000 film titles, 2,000,000 photographs and stills, 48,000 cinema programmes, 16,000 film posters, 30,000 books, and an extensive collection of apparatus, documents and costumes, it is the largest such organisation in Austria. Arthur Hoyt (March 19, 1874 – January 4, 1953) was an American film character actor who appeared in more than 275 films in his 34-year film career, about a third of them silent films. Career Born in Georgetown, Colorado, in 1874, Hoyt made his Broadway debut in 1905 in ''The Prince Consort''. He also appeared in Ferenc Molnár's ''The Devil'' in 1908, and made his final Broadway appearance in ''The Great Name'' in 1911. Hoyt made the silent comedy short ''The Scrub Lady'' in 1914, but his film acting career did not begin in earnest until 1916 when he appeared in another short, ''The Heart of a Show Girl''. From that time until 1944, each year a film was released in which Hoyt had acted – and frequently up to a dozen or so. Owen Gould Davis (January 29, 1874 – October 14, 1956) was an American dramatist known for writing more than 200 plays and having most produced. In 1919, he became the first elected president of the Dramatists Guild of America. He received the 1923 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his play '' Icebound'', His plays and scripts included works for radio and film. Before the First World War, he wrote racy sketches of New York high jinks and low life for the '' Police Gazette'' under the name of Ike Swift. Many of these were set in the Tenderloin, Manhattan.
