Hepaah
''Hepaah'' ( as, হেঁপাহ, ''All those longings…'', lit. ''Yearning'') is a 2003 Assamese musical drama film directed by Shankar Borua and produced by Mothiasiga Pictures. The story of the film revolves round the rise of a ragtag band, ''Hepaah'', of small-town musicians and tells the story of hope and frustration of the young generation against the "politically turbulent backdrop" of Assam. The film stars Biju Phukan, Jatin Bora, Geetawali Rajkumari in the lead roles and was released on 19 December 2003. Plot The story of ''Hepaah'' revolves round the rise of a ragtag band of five young small-town musicians against the backdrop of "politically turbulent" Assam. The five musicians plan to launch their band at a concert. A middle-aged man, Kakati ( Biju Phukan), who owns a furniture shop, comes to help them out. Biju Phukan
Biju Phukan; 18 February 1947 – 22 November 2017) was an Assamese actor. He was born in Dibrugarh, India, where he studied in the Dibrugarh HS Kanoi College and Dibrugarh Govt boys' higher secondary school Dibrugarh. He appeared in more than eighty Assamese feature films. His first movie was '' Dr. Bezbarua'' (1970). His first role as leading actor was in ''Baruar Songshar'' followed by ''Aranya'' which established him as a 'hero'. One of his songs that attained fame and was successful in the charts was "Mon Hira Doi" from the film ''Bowari''. His first release as a hero was Samarendra Narayan Dev's ''Aranya'' in 1971, which was adjudged the Best Regional Film at the National Film Awards. He was residing in Guwahati. He was a former jury member of Indian Panorama. He died at Apollo Hospital in Guwahati on 22 November 2017, aged 70. Jatin Bora
Jatin Bora (born 25 April 1970) is an Indian actor and director who has appeared in Assamese language films since 1989. He is also an actor and director in some mobile theatre groups of Assam, including Aabahan, Hengool, Ashirbaad, Bhagyadevi, Kohinoor, Itihas and Surjya. Early life Jatin Bora was born to Sri Gakul Chandra Bora and Premolata Bora, in Kacholukhowa village, Nagaon, Assam. He did his primary schooling in Marikalang Prathamik Vidyalaya. Nirmal Prabha Bordoloi
Nirmal Prabha Bordoloi (1932/1933 – 1 June 2004) was an Indian poet, lyricist and folklorist associated with Assamese literature. She was president of the Asam Sahitya Sabha in 1991 held at Dudhnoi in Goalpara district. She received several awards including Sahitya Akademi Award in 1983 for her poetry book ''Sudirgha Din Aru Ritu'', the President's Award in 1957 for children's literature and the Asam Sahitya Sabha award twice in 1977 and 1989 for her non-fiction books 'Dinar Pisat Din' and 'Debi', respectively. She was conferred the 'Saraswati Sanman' title in 1987. Life and career Bordoloi was married as a child at the age of 11. She wrote over 54 Assamese and English books and numerous songs. Chandmari
Chandmari is one of the oldest localities of Guwahati, Assam, India. Situated towards the eastern side of the city.
