Henry Moss
Henry Moss (born October 1933) is a British clothing and food entrepreneur, notable for women's fashion and associated with the emergence of London's Carnaby Street as a world centre of fashion in the swinging sixties. Personal life Henry Moss, born Henry Tiskovitz, in October 1933 at Mother Levy's Nursing Home, Tower Hamlets, East London. The family later relocated to Dorset, eventually settling in Winton, where Moss was educated at Bournemouth School. In 1962 Moss married Lilian Moss (née Silverman), subject of the BBC documentary, ''My Mother's Lost Children''. The couple settled in Hampstead Garden Suburb, North London. Martha And The Vandellas
Martha and the Vandellas (known from 1967 to 1972 as Martha Reeves & The Vandellas) were an American vocal girl group formed in Detroit in 1957. The group achieved fame in the 1960s with Motown. An act founded by friends Annette Beard, Rosalind Ashford and Gloria Williams, the group eventually included Martha Reeves, who moved up in ranks as lead vocalist of the group after Williams' departure in 1962. The group signed with and eventually recorded all of their singles for Motown's Gordy imprint. The group's string of hits included "Come and Get These Memories", "Heat Wave", "Quicksand", " Nowhere to Run", "Jimmy Mack", "I'm Ready for Love", "Bless You" and "Dancing in the Street", the latter song becoming their signature single. I Was Lord Kitchener's Valet is a clothing boutique which achieved fame in 1960s "Swinging London" by promoting antique military uniforms as fashion items. I Was Lord Kitchener's Valet was opened by Ian Fisk and John Paul soon joined by Robert Orbach at 293 Portobello Road Notting Hill, London, in 1965. Among the shop's customers were Eric Clapton, Mick Jagger, John Lennon and Jimi Hendrix. Robert Orbach arranged for his ex boss Warren Gold aka Lord John to rent the shop in Wardour Street to John Paul. Another new branch of Kitchener's was opened in Foubert's Place, off Carnaby Street, also arranged by Orbach selling militaria and Swinging London novelty items, that was rented from Henry Moss and Harry Fox of Lady Jane fame.
