Henry Chavancy
Henry Chavancy (born 22 May 1988 in Strasbourg) is a French rugby union player. He plays as a centre for Racing Métro in the Top 14. Early life He studied at lycée Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague and lycée militaire de Saint-Cyr after 2 years at the secondary school Joseph Kessel in Djibouti. He also studied 4 years at the Léonard de Vinci Business School. Career Club Henry Chavancy has been playing for the Racing Métro 92 since 1999. He is 2005 French Taddei Champion, 2009 French Pro D2 Champion and 2011 Top 14 semi-finalist. He played his first game of Pro D2 during the 2007/2008 season. During the 2008/2009 season he played 20 games and become French Champion of Pro D2 with his team. Since 2009 he has been playing 54 Top 14 games and 8 games during the European Cup. In 2016, he won Top 14 by defeating Toulon in the final at Camp Nou in Barcelona, before an attendance exceeding 99,000 people. The Churchill Cup was an annual rugby union tournament, held in June, contested by representative men's (and formerly women's) teams from Canada, England, the United States, and other invited teams (originally one and later three) from a wide array of countries. The 2019–20 European Rugby Champions Cup (known as the Heineken Champions Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the sixth season of the European Rugby Champions Cup, the annual club rugby union competition run by European Professional Club Rugby (ECPR) for teams from the top six nations in European rugby. The 2017–18 European Rugby Champions Cup was the fourth European Rugby Champions Cup championship (23rd overall), the annual rugby union club competition for teams from the top six nations in European rugby and was the twenty-third season of pan-European professional club rugby competition. The format of the competition began with a play-off qualification round at the end of the preceding season featuring teams from England, France, Ireland and Wales. The 2008–09 Rugby Pro D2 was the second-level French rugby union club competition, behind the Top 14, in the 2008–09 season. It ran alongside the 2008–09 Top 14 competition; both competitions were operated by the Ligue Nationale de Rugby (LNR). Previous season At the end of the previous season, Toulon were champions and thus automatically promoted to Top 14. Rugby Pro D2, also known as Pro D2 is the second tier of rugby union club competition division in France. It is operated by Ligue Nationale de Rugby (LNR) which also runs the division directly above, the first division Top 14. Rugby Pro D2 was introduced in 2000. It is the world's best supported second tier rugby union league. Season structure There is relegation and promotion between both the Top 14 and Fédérale 1, the third-level competition. The top club at the end of the season is automatically promoted to the Top 14; through the 2016–17 season, the 2nd through 5th place teams play each other for the second promotion place.
