Hennie Stamsnijder
Hendrikus (Hennie) Johannes Maria Stamsnijder (born 21 July 1954 in Enter, Overijssel) is a Dutch former professional cyclo-cross and road racing cyclist. Stamsnijder was military cyclo-cross world champion in 1975. In 1976 he took part in the Olympic Games. In 1979 he won the Essen cyclo-cross and the amateur Dutch road race championship. In 1980 he turned professional for DAF Trucks, finishing third in the cyclo-cross world championship. Stamsnijder's greatest success was becoming cyclo-cross world champion in 1981 in Tolosa in the Basque Country. On a muddy course he left the Belgian Roland Liboton and the Swiss champion Albert Zweifel behind him to take the title. Stamsnijder was the first Dutch world cyclo-cross champion and that year he was named sportsman of the year. Enter (town)
Enter ( Low German: ''Eanter'') is a village in the eastern Netherlands. Enter is located in the municipality of Wierden, Overijssel, between Almelo, Goor, Bornerbroek and Rijssen. In 2021, it was home to 5,515 inhabitants. History The history of the town dates back to approximately 1200, when the name of Enter first appeared in writings. The people of Enter were mainly occupied as gooseherd or wooden shoe manufacturers. Furthermore, Enter was the center for the construction of a certain type of ships, called Zomp, in the 18th century and the 19th century. Team DSM () is a Dutch professional cycling team at UCI WorldTeam level. The team is managed by Iwan Spekenbrink. History The team was founded in 2005 under the name "Shimano-Memory Corp", sponsored by Skil and Shimano, and was based in the Netherlands. 1981 Tour De France
The 1981 Tour de France was the 68th edition of the Tour de France, taking place between 25 June and 19 July. The total race distance was 24 stages over . It was dominated by Bernard Hinault, who led the race from the sixth stage on, increasing his lead almost every stage. Only Phil Anderson was able to stay close to him, until the 16th stage when he fell behind by about 7:00, and then on the 17th stage he would lose another 17 minutes. In the end only Lucien Van Impe, Robert Alban and Joop Zoetemelk were able to finish inside 20:00 of the now three time champ. The points classification was won by Freddy Maertens, who did so by winning five stages. The mountains classification was won by Lucien Van Impe, Peter Winnen won the young rider classification, and the Peugeot team won the team classification. 1980 Tour De France
The 1980 Tour de France was the 67th edition of the Tour de France. The total distance was over 22 stages. In the first half of the race, Bernard Hinault started out strong by winning the prologue and two stages. However, knee problems forced Hinault to abandon the race while still in the lead. Joop Zoetemelk became the new leader, and defended that position successfully. Just as in 1979 when Hinault and Zoetemelk finished nearly a half hour ahead of the rest of the field, the 1980 edition was a battle between these two riders until Hinault abandoned. At the time Hinault was just 21 seconds ahead of Zoetemelk and the race was about to enter the Pyrenees. Zoetemelk did not wear the yellow jersey during stage 13 though he did in every stage thereafter finishing the race with nearly a seven-minute advantage over second place Hennie Kuiper. Tour De France
The Tour de France () is an annual men's multiple-stage bicycle race primarily held in France, while also occasionally passing through nearby countries. Like the other Grand Tours (the Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a España), it consists of 21 stages, each a day long, over the course of 23 days, coinciding with the Bastille Day holiday.
