Hen is a small village in the municipality of Ringerike in Buskerud, Norway. Hen is situated between Hønefoss and Hallingby in Ådal. Hen is located near the Hensfossen waterfall on the Ådal River (''Ådalselva''). Timber was floating down the Ådal River, which in the past had both a sawmill and pulp mill, both of which are now closed. Hensfoss kraftverk is a hydroelectric power plant powered by the water fall from Hensfossen. The power plant was put into operation in 1946 and modified in 1950 and 1951. Hen Station (''Hen Stasjon'') on the Randsfjorden Line was opened in 1868. Ringerike (municipality)
Ringerike is a municipality in the traditional and electoral district Buskerud in Viken county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Ringerike. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Hønefoss. The municipality of Ringerike was created on 1 January 1964 after the merger of the town of Hønefoss and the rural municipalities of Hole, Norderhov, Tyristrand, and Ã…dal. However, the area of Hole was removed from the municipality of Ringerike on 1 January 1977 to become a separate municipality once again. The historic area of Ringerike included not just the modern municipality of Ringerike but also Hole and Krødsherad, Modum and Sigdal. Buskerud () is a former county and a current electoral district in Norway, bordering Akershus, Oslo, Oppland, Sogn og Fjordane, Hordaland, Telemark and Vestfold. The region extends from the Oslofjord and Drammensfjorden in the southeast to Hardangervidda mountain range in the northwest. The county administration was in modern times located in Drammen. Hønefoss

Hønefoss is an industrial center of inner Østlandet, containing several factories and other industry. As of 1 January 2008, Hønefoss has 14,177 inhabitants. Hallingby
Hallingby is a village in Ringerike municipality in the county of Buskerud, Norway. Hallingby is located north of Hønefoss, along the European route E16 towards Valdres and Western Norway. Hallingby was one of five stations on the now defunct Sperillbanen, an abandoned railway which ran through Ringerike between the village of Hen and the port at Finstad on Lake Sperillen. Hval Church (''Hval kirke''), an octagonal church built in 1862, is the main church in the parish. The church is an octagonal central nave church of timber from 1862 and has 250 seats. The church was built from the same drawings originally designed by architect Christian Heinrich Grosch for the Nes Church. The church was restored during 1902, 1924, and 1962. In 1924, a new chapel in the timber was built and inaugurated in 1925. Ådal is a valley in the municipality of Ringerike (municipality), Ringerike and was a former municipality in Buskerud County, Norway. The municipality was created in 1857 by a split from Norderhov. At that time Ådal had a population of 2,382. Randsfjorden Line
The Randsfjorden Line ( no, Randsfjordbanen) is an railway located in Viken county in Norway connecting Drammen to Hønefoss and Hadeland in Innlandet county. The railway is primarily used for passenger trains, and the only scheduled trains on the stretch are Norwegian State Railways express trains on the Bergen Line between Oslo and Bergen. Freight trains to Bergen go to Hønefoss via the Gjøvik Line. The railway is owned by the Norwegian National Rail Administration. Sperill Line
The Sperillen Line ( no, Sperillbanen) is an abandoned railway which ran through Ringerike in Viken county, Norway. The long line had five stations, starting at Hen Station on the Randsfjord Line and continuing to Lake Sperillen where it connected with a ferry at the port of Finstad. The rail line had additional stations and stops at Hallingby, Somma, and Ringmoen at the south end of Lake Sperillen. The steam ship DS ''Bægna'' had provided ferry and freight transport service from the southern end of Lake Sperillen to Sørum at Sør-Aurdal in Oppland at the northern end.
