Hemne
Hemne is a former municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 2020 when it was incorporated into Heim Municipality. It was part of the Fosen region. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Kyrksæterøra. Other villages included Heim, Hellandsjøen, Holla, and Vinjeøra. The European route E39 highway runs through the southern part of Hemne. At the time of its dissolution in 2020, the municipality is the 169th largest by area out of the 422 municipalities in Norway. Hemne is the 225th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 4,225. The municipality's population density is and its population has decreased by 0.2% over the last decade. Vinje, Sør-Trøndelag
Vinje is a former municipality in the old Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1924 until its dissolution in 1964. The municipality encompassed the areas around the inner Vinjefjorden and the Søo river valley in what is now the southern part of the present-day municipality of Heim. The administrative centre was the village of Vinjeøra. The lake Vasslivatnet lies in the eastern part of Vinje. History Originally (since 1838), Vinje was a part of the municipality of Hemne (see formannskapsdistrikt). Historically, the parish annex of Vinje actually belonged to Romsdalen county while the main parish of Hemne belonged to Søndre Trondhjem county. But according to the 1837 formannskapsdistrikt law, a parish could no longer be divided between two counties, so the annex of Vinje had to be transferred to the county of Søndre Trondhjem. This is a list of former municipalities of Norway, i.e. municipalities that no longer exist. When the local council system was introduced in Norway in 1837-38, the country had 392 municipalities. In 1958 the number had grown to a total of 744 rural municipalities, 64 city municipalities as well as a small number of small seaports with '' ladested'' status. A committee led by Nikolai Schei, formed in 1946 to examine the situation, proposed hundreds of mergers to reduce the number of municipalities and improve the quality of local administration. Most of the mergers were carried out, albeit to significant popular protest. As of January 2006 there are 431 municipalities in Norway, and there are plans for further mergers and political pressure to do so. Vinjeøra
Vinjeøra is a village in the municipality of Heim, in the Trøndelag county of Norway. The village lies along the European route E39 highway, in particularly at the end of the Vinjefjorden and about south of the municipal center of Kyrksæterøra. The village has a population of almost 300 people and is located about from the city of Trondheim and about from the city of Kristiansund. Historically, Vinjeøra was the administrative centre of the old municipality of Vinje, which became a part of Hemne municipality in 1964. Sør-Trøndelag
Sør-Trøndelag () was a county comprising the southern portion of the present-day Trøndelag county in Norway. It bordered the old Nord-Trøndelag county as well as the counties of Møre og Romsdal, Oppland, and Hedmark. To the west is the Norwegian Sea (Atlantic Ocean), and to the east is Jämtland in Sweden. The county was separated into a northern and southern part by the Trondheimsfjord. Slightly over 200,000 of the county's population (or around 55%) lives in the city of Trondheim and its suburbs. The municipality existed from 1924 until its dissolution in 2020 when it was split between the municipalities of Hitra, Heim, and Orkland. It was part of the Fosen region. Kyrksæterøra
Kyrksæterøra is the administrative center of the municipality of Heim in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village was known as the "white town of Hemnfjorden" at one time because there were only white houses. It is located at the end of Hemnfjorden, about southwest of the village of Holla. The villages of Hellandsjøen and Heim both lie to the north and the village of Vinjeøra lies to the south. Hemne Church is located in the village. Norwegian County Road 680 passes through the village. The newspaper '' Søvesten'' has been published in Kyrksæterøra since 1994. The village has a population (2018) of 2,526 and a population density of . At one time, there was a shoe factory, a shipyard, a lumber mill, and fish processing plant in the area.
