Helsinki Police Band
The Helsinki Police Symphonic Band ( fi, Helsingin poliisisoittokunta) is a 43-member professional wind orchestra, located in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. The band is a pr-unit of the Helsinki Police Department, which is a local agency of the Police of Finland. The band plays a very important part in the police department's public relations with citizens, with the band commonly representing the police department at many different national and international events. The orchestra is widely known for its versatile repertoire, including symphonic wind band music, as well as folk music, jazz, pop, and music for children. Vanajan Autotehdas
Vanajan Autotehdas Oy (VAT) was a producer of heavy vehicles based in Hämeenlinna, Finland. The company was founded as ''Yhteissisu Oy'' in 1943 by the Finnish government and a number of major Finnish companies with the aim of producing lorries and buses for the Finnish Defence Forces. World War II was over before the company could start series production; it was renamed Vanajan Autotehdas and the marque became Vanaja. Subsequently, the production consisted of outdated lorry models, partly built from military surplus materials. After overcoming initial difficulties, the company modernised its products, became profitable and grew until the mid-1950s. Many major components, including engines, were imported. Jorma Hynninen
Jorma Kalervo Hynninen (born 3 April 1941) is a Finnish baritone who performs regularly with the world's major opera companies. He has also worked in opera administration. Hynninen was born on 3 April 1941 in Leppävirta, Finland. He studied from 1966 to 1970 at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and also took lessons from Luigi Ricci in Rome and Kurt Overhoff in Salzburg. In 1969 he won first prize the Lappeenranta Solo Voice Competition and made his opera debut with the Finnish National Opera as Silvio in Leoncavallo's ''Pagliacci''. LaGaylia Frazier (born 16 February 1961) is an American-born Swedish singer who specializes in Soul and jazz. Early life and work LaGaylia Frazier was born in Miami, Florida. and grew up in Miami Shores. As a child she played classical piano for twelve years. She began singing at the age of 15 and received a full scholarship at the University of Miami where she majored in voice and musical theatre. After leaving the University of Miami, she performed with Top 40 bands, eventually joining singer Rosco Martinez and pianist Paquito Hechavarriais in a Pop-Latin dance band whose recording debut was as Bandera in 1989.
