Hellmut Andics (25 August 192219 August 1998) was an Austrian journalist, publicist and writer. Life After military service in World War II Andics became a journalist and worked as an editor, at The New Austria and Die Presse. From 1 March 1979 to 31 December 1980 Andics was director of the Burgenland Festival. From 11 October 1982 to 27 October 1986, he was director of the ORF Regional Studio Burgenland. He is best known for its contemporary history reports and documentaries. He also wrote the screenplay for the television series ''Ringstraßenpalais (TV series), Ringstraßenpalais'' and for the five-part documentary television film ', which the ZDF produced in 1967 under the direction of Wolfgang Schleif. Hellmut Wilhelm (10 December 1905 – 5 July 1990) was a German Sinologist known for his studies of both Chinese literature and Chinese history. Wilhelm was an expert on the ancient Chinese divination text '' I Ching (Yi jing)'', which he believed to represent the essence of Chinese thought.Knechtges (1992), 6. Hellmut Ludwig Späth (4 December 1885 – 15 February 1945) was a German botanist and plant nursery owner, murdered by the Nazi party. His nursery is now Späth-Arboretum. Biography He was born 4 December 1885, the son of Franz and Wilhelmine Späth, became the sixth and last manager of the Späth nursery on the death of his father in 1913. After studies at Cambridge, Hellmut returned to Berlin in 1910 and received his doctorate in 1912 from the Berlin Agricultural College. His dissertation was titled, ''The Locust Drive - a contribution to the knowledge of periodicity and annual ring formation in deciduous woody plants'', and was published by Paul Parey. Hellmut revived the nursery's fortunes during the Depression by joining the Nazi Party and obtaining lucrative landscaping contracts for the new autobahns and other public works. Hellmut Seibt (born 25 June 1929 – 21 July 1992) was an Austrian figure skater. He was the 1952 Olympic silver medalist, 1951 World bronze medalist, a two-time European champion (1951–52), and three-time national champion. Personal life Seibt was born on 25 June 1929 in Vienna. He married figure skater Inge Regner in March 1956. He died on 21 July 1992. Career Seibt began skating at age four, having been advised to take up an outdoor activity after suffering pneumonia. He practiced at the Engelmann club in Hernals, Vienna, under the guidance of Rudolf Kutzer and Karl Schäfer. Seibt was coached by Inge Lind-Solar after World War II. He won his first national medal, silver, in 1947. In 1948, he was sent to his first European Championships, where he placed seventh, and then competed at the 1948 Winter Olympics, finishing ninth. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross (german: Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes) and its variants were the highest awards in the military of the Third Reich during World War II. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded for a wide range of reasons and across all ranks, from a senior commander for skilled leadership of his troops in battle to a low-ranking soldier for a single act of extreme gallantry. A total of 7,321 awards were made between its first presentation on 30 September 1939 and its last bestowal on 17 June 1945. This number is based on the analysis and acceptance of the Order commission of the Association of Knight's Cross Recipients (AKCR).
