Yngling (keelboat)
The Yngling is a sailboat that was designed by Norwegian Jan Herman Linge as a one design racer and first built in 1967.Sherwood, Richard M.: ''A Field Guide to Sailboats of North America, Second Edition'', pages 108-109. Houghton Mifflin Company, 1994. The Yngling design is very similar to the larger 1966 Linge-designed Soling. Production In the past the design was built by Abbott Boats in Canada, the O'Day Corp. and Jibetech in the United States as well as Petticrows in the United Kingdom. It remains in production at Børresen Bådebyggeri in Denmark and by Mader Bootswerft in Germany. Design The Yngling is a racing keelboat, built predominantly of fibreglass, with wood trim. It has a fractional sloop rig with aluminum spars.
