Hegersport
Hegersport GmbH is a German auto racing company which serves as organizer for German Porsche Sports Cup series, as well as a racing team which competed in the FIA GT1 World Championship under the title Triple H Team Hegersport. The company was formed in 2000 by racing drivers Altfrid Heger and Christof Maischak in Essen, Germany, originally organizing the V8Star Series for touring cars in Germany and across Europe. Following the end of the V8Stars series in 2004, Hegersport coordinated with Porsche Germany to establish the Sports Cup series, a national series for Porsche drivers. Hegersport also serves as a private customer event organizer, and provides training and safety courses for individuals. In 2010 Hegersport became one of two teams nominated to represent Maserati in the inaugural FIA GT1 World Championship. Alex Müller (racing Driver)
Alexander Müller (born 20 January 1979) is a German racing driver. Career Müller stepped up from karting in 1995, and finished third in BMW Formula Junior driving for Abt Sportsline. In 1996 he won Formula Renault Germany. Altfrid Heger is a German racing driver who competed in the 1987 World Touring Car Championship. He won the 1988 Guia Race. Matteo Bobbi
Matteo Bobbi (born 2 July 1978 in Milan) is an Italian racing driver with experience in several motor sport categories, including three years as a Minardi test driver in Formula One. During a brief time with Formula One's Minardi as their test driver, he also began racing in sports cars, winning the 2003 FIA GT Championship with Thomas Biagi in a BMS Scuderia Italia Ferrari, and finishing as runner-up in 2004. In 2006, he won the GT2 class with Jaime Melo. Bobbi began racing karts in 1995 and progressed to Formula Renault in 1998, where he finished on the podium several times. He tested a Formula One car for Minardi in 2000, and became their official test driver the following year. FIA GT1 World Championship
The FIA GT1 World Championship was a world championship sports car racing series, developed by the SRO Group and regulated by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), that was held from 2010 to 2012. It featured multiple grand tourer race cars—based on production road cars and conforming with the GT1 (2010–2011) and GT3 (2012) regulations—that competed in one-hour races on multiple continents. All cars were performance balanced, with weight and restrictor adjustments, to artificially equalise their performance. Championships were awarded each season for drivers and teams. V8Star Series
The V8Star Series was a touring car racing series based in Germany that ran for three seasons between 2001 and 2003. The series featured privateers racing identical cars that were covered in different silhouette designs to create visual diversity. It was commonly compared to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, which was factory-backed and revived in 2000. Its choice of engines and the fact that it raced twice in the oval configuration at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz also led to the V8Star Series being called the "German NASCAR" before its cancellation in November 2003 due to a lack of sponsorship money. Touring Car Racing
Touring car racing is a motorsport road racing competition with heavily modified road-going cars. It has both similarities to and significant differences from stock car racing, which is popular in the United States. While the cars do not move as fast as those in Formula racing, formula or sports car racing, sports car races, their similarity both to one another and to fans' own vehicles makes for entertaining, well-supported racing. The lesser use of aerodynamics means following cars have a much easier time passing than in open-wheel racing, and the more substantial bodies of the cars makes the subtle bumping and nudging for overtaking much more acceptable as part of racing.
