Hedwig Dances was founded by Jan Bartoszek in 1985 and continues under her artistic direction. Hedwig Dances works to combine the interdisciplinary arts of sculpture, video, and original music with dance to create an integrated performance experience. The company is named after Bartoszek's paternal grandmother. From 1992 to 2011, Hedwig Dances was the company-in-residence at The Chicago Cultural Center. The Chicago Cultural Center, opened in 1897, is a Chicago Landmark building operated by Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events that houses the city's official reception venue where the Mayor of Chicago has welcomed presidents and royalty, diplomats and community leaders. Susan Marshall (born October 17, 1958) is an American choreographer and the Artistic Director of Susan Marshall & Company. She has held the position of Director of the Program in Dance at Princeton University since 2009. Career Susan Marshall & Company Susan Marshall & Company was formed in 1985 in New York City. Beverly Blossom
Beverly Schmidt Blossom (August 28, 1926 – November 1, 2014) was an American modern dancer, choreographer, and teacher. She was an original member and soloist with the Alwin Nikolais Dance Theater, a modern dance choreographer for Illinois Dance Theatre, Blossom & Co. and others, and a professor at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Training Born in Chicago, Illinois to Theodore and Florence Schmidt, she held a bachelor's degree in liberal arts from Roosevelt University and a master's degree in dance from Sarah Lawrence College where performance artist Meredith Monk was one of her dance composition students.Faculty profile: Beverly Blossom
