''Heart and Soul'' is a 1994 album by the British pop group Five Star. It was the group's first album for three years, released independently on their own label, Tent Records. It was first released in the US in 1994, and released in the UK in 1995 featuring completely different artwork from the US version. There were three singles released from the album: I Love You (For Sentimental Reasons), I Give You Give, and Surely. Promotional videos were produced for the first two singles; I Love You (For Sentimental Reasons) was directed by Malcolm-Jamal Warner. It was commercially unsuccessful in both countries. Five Star
Five Star (also styled as 5 Star) are a British pop group, formed in 1983 and comprising siblings Stedman, Lorraine, Denise, Doris and Delroy Pearson. Between 1985 and 1988, Five Star had four top 20 albums and 15 top 40 singles in the UK, including the top 10 hits " System Addict" (1986), "Can't Wait Another Minute" (1986), " Find the Time" (1986), " Rain or Shine" (1986), " Stay Out of My Life" (1987) and "The Slightest Touch" (1987). They won the 1987 Brit Award for Best British Group. Biography 1980s The five-piece group of siblings from Romford were masterminded by their father and manager, Buster Pearson, who modelled them in the style of the Jackson 5. He was a former recording artist and session musician who had worked with Wilson Pickett and had set up Tent Records Ltd in 1982. Buster Pearson (4 May 1941 – 14 October 2012), born Stedman Pearson in Jamaica, was a musician and producer, and father and former manager of British pop group Five Star. He also owned and ran a number of record labels, most notably the 1970s reggae label K&B Records and the 1980s R&B/dance label Tent Records. Eclipse (Five Star Album)
''Eclipse'' is an album by the British pop group Five Star. Released in 2001, the album was released via the Internet only through the group's fan club, run by their father and then-manager, Buster Pearson. The CD was a professionally printed disc, with CD booklet including sleeve notes and track information. The art work was designed by Pearson. The album was never properly "completed" and only released at the insistence of their manager/father. The band's future was in question at this time as Doris and Delroy no longer wanted to perform, though both contributed to the ''Eclipse'' sessions. The band promoted the album as a threesome of Stedman, Lorraine and Deniece Pearson. Only one single was issued from the album, "Funktafied". Again, this could only be purchased from their fan club. "(I Love You) for Sentimental Reasons" is a popular song written by Ivory "Deek" Watson, founding member of the Ink Spots and of the Brown Dots, and William "Pat" Best, founding member of the Four Tunes. The credits and Leeds Publishing Company list Watson as a co-writer. Best later claimed that Watson had nothing to do with the creation of the song, but Watson maintained in his late 1960s autobiography that he and Best wrote the song together, lyrics and music respectively.
