Heart Of The North
''Heart of the North'' is a 1938 American adventure film directed by Lewis Seiler and written by Lee Katz and Vincent Sherman. The film stars Dick Foran, Gloria Dickson, Gale Page, Allen Jenkins, Patric Knowles, and Janet Chapman. The film was released by Warner Bros. on December 10, 1938. It is based on the novel with the same name, written by William Byron Mowery. The Canadian Mounties abandon horses to pursue a gang of gold and fur thieves, using boats, canoes and airplanes. Lewis Seiler (September 30, 1890 – January 8, 1964) was an American film director. He directed more than 80 films between 1923 and 1958. Seiler was born in New York City and died in Hollywood, California. Joe King (actor)
Joe King ( – ) was an American actor of silent films and talkies as well as a director and writer. Biography King was born in Austin, Texas as Joseph Sayer King and acted in 211 films from 1912 to 1946. He appeared in his later years mainly in minor, uncredited roles. He directed two films, both in 1916 and wrote one script in 1915. Joe King was married to actress Hazel Buckham and he died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California. Anderson Lawler
Anderson Lawler (May 5, 1902 – April 6, 1959) was an American actor and producer in film and theatre who had a career lasting from the 1920s through the 1950s. He began on Broadway before moving to featured and supporting roles in Hollywood over a ten-year career at the very beginning of the talking-picture era. After the end of his acting career, Lawler moved to the production end of the film industry as well as becoming a producer of legitimate theater in the late 1940s and 1950s. Early life Lawler was born Sidney Lawler on May 5, 1902, in Russellville, Alabama, to Earnest H. and Dona C. Lawler. Prior to 1927, Lawler moved to New York City and changed his professional name to Anderson Lawler. Robert Edward Homans (November 8, 1877 – July 28, 1947) was an American actor who entered films in 1923 after a lengthy stage career. Life and career Robert Homans was born November 8, 1877, in Malden, Massachusetts. Although he studied medicine for three years after his college graduation, a 1906 newspaper article noted that "the 'stage bee' got into his bonnet and nothing would do but that he become an actor." His Broadway credits include '' The Blue Bird'' (1910), ''The Blue Envelope'' (1915), ''Johnny, Get Your Gun'' (1916) and ''Like a King'' (1921). His screen debut came in ''Madame Sherry''. He appeared in some 400 films between 1917 and 1946. On April 18, 1909, Homans married Agnes J. Mellon in San Francisco. Another source gives his wife's name as Agnes Maynard.
