Headkase
Headkase was an Australian avant-garde metal band from Brisbane, Queensland, formed in 2001. Headkase consisted of six members, and are known for theatrical and energetic stage shows, circus-themed masks and facepaint. Often compared to acts like Mr. Bungle, the band combined many musical styles such as metal, jazz, techno, salsa, swing, and circus music. History After forming in early 2001, Headkase self-released a demo/EP titled ''The Beginning'' and eventually went on to open for such touring acts as Hed PE, Killing Joke, Skinlab, Jerk, Blood Duster, Devolved and Testeagles. Their full-length studio album ''The Worm County Circus'' was released in early 2009. The album was well received outside of Australia, with US magazine "Infernal Masquerade" describing it as "one of the most interesting albums of this year". King Parrot (band)
King Parrot are an Australian grindcore band formed in Melbourne in 2010. They have released three studio albums: ''Bite Your Head Off'' (2012), ''Dead Set'' (2015) and ''Ugly Produce'' (2017). History King Parrot formed in Melbourne in 2010 with the original line-up of Matt Young (vocals), Ed Lacey and Ari White (guitar), Slatts Everday (bass) and drummer Matt Rizzo. White, Rizzo and Lacey had come directly from their previous band Watchdog Discipline, Slatts Everyday was a member of Warrnambool rock band Cockfight Shootout. Lacey had also been a member of The Berzerker for several years and Rizzo was formerly with Blood Duster. The Berzerker
The Berzerker are an extreme metal band from Melbourne and was formed in 1995. The band's music, heavily influenced by older death metal and grindcore, can be characterized as a fusion of these with speedcore, and gabber. The band's founding member Luke Kenny described the band's style as industrial death metal. The Berzerker has produced five full-length albums, ''The Berzerker'' (2000), '' Dissimulate'' (2002), '' World of Lies'' (2005), ''Animosity'' (2007) and ''The Reawakening'' (2008). These were released through Earache Records, with the exception of the last album, which was self-released through Berserker Industries. During the early part of their career as a live act, band members were identified only as The Vocalist, The Guitarist, The Bassist and The Drummer, distinguishable on stage only by the masks they wore. Man Must Die
Man Must Die is a Scottish technical death metal band from Glasgow, formed in 2002. History Man Must Die was formed in May 2002, with John Lee, Alan McFarland, Danny McNab and Joe McGlynn. The band members were known throughout the Scottish metal scene through other bands such as Regorge, Confusion Corporation, Co-Exist and Godplayer. They released a four-track demo, ''The Season Of Evil'', in 2003 which attracted label Retribute Records who released their debut album ''...Start Killing'', in 2004. They released their second studio album through Relapse Records, titled ''The Human Condition''. Blood Duster was an Australian extreme metal and stoner rock band from Melbourne. Their name came from the song "Blood Duster" by John Zorn, from the 1989 album '' Naked City''. History Formation The band was formed in 1991 by Jason Fuller (aka Jason PC) (bass), Anonymous (vocals and guitar), and Andrew Brown (drums). After completion of their first demo, Anonymous resigned and was replaced by Troy Darlington and Callum Wilson. A self-released demo recording in 1992 was titled ''Menstrual Soup''. By the time the band recorded their first EP, Wilson and Darlington had been replaced by Tony Forde, Shane Rout, and Brad Johnston. Devolved is an Australian technical death metal band led by drummer and lyricist John Sankey, originally from the Gold Coast, Queensland, but now based in Los Angeles. The band has released four full-length albums and has toured extensively throughout Australia, Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States and Japan. History In 1998, drummer John Sankey decided to start a new extreme metal band based at the Gold Coast, Australia and began writing material with local guitarist Brett Noordin. They then added bassist and vocalist Joel Graham and lead guitarist Mark Walpole were recruited and the original Devolved line-up was complete. Testeagles
Testeagles, sometimes referred to as "TEs", were a three-piece rock band which formed in Adelaide, South Australia in 1994. The group is made up of brothers Matthew "Matty" Matt (lead guitar and lead vocals) and Adrian "Ady" Matt (drums), alongside Dave "D" Paisawa (bass guitar and vocals). D joined the lineup in 1999, replacing their original bass guitarist, Dean. The group have a handful of official releases to their name, the first being the ''Chum'' EP released in 1995, which was followed by the ''B-Sting'' and ''Friends'' EPs in 1998, their first tracks to secure them Triple J airplay.
