Hazleton Public Transit (HPT) is a provider of public transportation and demand response service for persons with disabilities for the city of Hazleton, Pennsylvania and its surrounding area. Routes All services originate at Church Street Station, an intermodal center located at 126 Mine Street in Downtown Hazleton. Services operate on a Monday through Friday schedule, however, a modified Saturday schedule, and a modified Sunday schedule operate into key travel locations on those days. Hazleton is a city in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 29,963 at the 2020 census. Hazleton is the second largest city in Luzerne County. Wyoming Valley Mall is a shopping mall located in Wilkes-Barre Township, Pennsylvania. It is anchored by JCPenney and Macy's. History Work began on the mall in April 1968, when the land was purchased from the Blue Coal Corporation. Illegally dumped garbage from the East Side Landfill Authority was removed during early work. Sears opened before the mall in early 1971. Pomeroy's opened in August and JCPenney in April 1972. Wyoming Valley Mall did not become successful until Hurricane Agnes in 1972 caused significant damage to the surrounding area and the post-disaster need for supplies. The Luzerne County Transportation Authority (LCTA) is the operator of mass transportation in the city of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and portions of surrounding Luzerne County. Gillig Phantom
The Gillig Phantom is a series of buses that was produced by an American manufacturer Gillig Corporation in Hayward, California. The successor to the long-running Gillig Transit Coach model line, the Phantom marked the transition of Gillig from a producer of yellow school buses to that of transit buses. The first transit bus assembled entirely by Gillig (from 1977 to 1979, the company assembled a few buses in a joint venture with Neoplan), the Phantom was produced exclusively as a high-floor bus (with step entrance). As operator needs shifted towards low-entry buses in North America, Gillig introduced the Gillig H2000LF/Low Floor.
