Havnatt
Havnatt is a neofolk musical duo hailing from Oslo, Norway. The members, Cecilie Langlie and Tom Simonsen, are members of a number of other Oslo bands including Skumring, Vagrant God and Omit. They formed Havnatt in the spring of 2006 when they were commissioned by the Skagestad family to turn three poems by the late Norwegian author Tormod Skagestad into music. The three poems were Myrulla, Havnatt and Prammen from the collection of poems entitled Havdøgn. In the autumn of 2009, Cecilie and Tom were asked by Prophecy Productions to write an exclusive piece of music for a compilation album entitled Whom The Moon A Nightsong Sings. The new Havnatt track included in that release was named Dagen og natta. This led to Cecilie and Tom writing more Havnatt material. Whom The Moon A Nightsong Sings was released on October 29, 2010. Oslo, Norway
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. Neofolk
Neofolk, also known as apocalyptic folk, is a form of experimental music blending elements of folk and industrial music, which emerged in punk rock circles in the 1980s. Neofolk may either be solely acoustic or combine acoustic folk instrumentation with various other sounds. History The term "neofolk" originates from esoteric music circles who started using the term in the late 20th century to describe music influenced by musicians such as Douglas Pearce (Death In June), Tony Wakeford (Sol Invictus) and David Tibet (Current 93). Tormod Skagestad
Tormod Skagestad (9 August 1920 – 4 January 1997) was a Norwegian poet, novelist, playwright, actor and theatre director. Biography Tormod Skagestad was born in Krødsherad, Buskerud county, Norway. Skagestad grew up in a rich cultural environment. His father was a teacher and sexton of the village, his mother was the organist. After his final exams (1942) and he earned a master's degree in drama at the University of Wisconsin (1946–48). After a period at Radioteatret (1949–1953), Skagestad worked as an instructor at Det Norske Teatret (1953–1961), served as theatre director from 1961 to 1975, and again from 1976 to 1979. He was chairman of the Norwegian Association of Theatre Manager (''Norsk Teaterlederforening'') for several periods and president of the Association of Norwegian Theatres (''De Norske Teatres forening'').
