Havel (film)
''Havel'' is a 2020 Czech historical film based on the life of dissident and former Czech president Václav Havel. It is directed by Slávek Horák and stars Viktor Dvořák. The film focuses on Havel's life from 1968 to 1989, when he was a dissident under the communist regime, as well as his relationship with his wife Olga and friend Pavel Landovský. Synopsis The film starts in 1968. Václav Havel works as a playwright at Theatre on the Balustrade, where he receives ovations. His career is interrupted by the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia. The story then moves to 1976, when he participates in the preparation of Charter 77, which leads to his imprisonment. The story largely focuses on Havel's personal life and relationship with his wife Olga. The film ends in 1989, during the Velvet Revolution. Slávek Horák
Slávek Horák (born 12 January 1975 in Zlín) is a Czech film director, screenwriter and actor. He is a graduate of Zlin Film School and also studied directing at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU). His rapid career growth as a director of various international commercial campaigns prevented him from finishing his FAMU studies, but also earned him several awards at International Advertising festivals. He shot two short films for international project Straight8 that were selected in top six and shown at the Cannes Film Festival. He also worked as an assistant director with Jan Sverak on his Academy Award winning film '' Kolja'' (1996). In 2012 he started his own production company TVORBA films. Jiří Bartoška
Jiří Bartoška (born 24 March 1947) is a Czech theatre, television, and film actor and president of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. His most notable film roles include performances in ''Sekal Has to Die'' (1998), ''All My Loved Ones'' (1999), and ''Tiger Theory'' (2016), as well as the television series ''Sanitka'' (1984) and '' Neviditelní'' (2014). Biography Education and career Bartoška was born in Děčín and went to high school in Pardubice. After graduating, he attended the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno. Michal (; he, מיכל , gr, Μιχάλ) was, according to the first Book of Samuel, a princess of the United Kingdom of Israel; the younger daughter of King Saul, she was the first wife of David (), who later became king, first of Judah, then of all Israel. Alexander Dubček (; 27 November 1921 – 7 November 1992) was a Slovak politician who served as the First Secretary of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (KSČ) (''de facto'' leader of Czechoslovakia) from January 1968 to April 1969.
