Harvest Bible College
Harvest Bible College was the first Pentecostal theological college accredited by the Australian government. In 2018 it merged with Alphacrucis College. It was a private tertiary education provider, accredited by the Australian government, specialising in training for Christian ministry. It was non-denominational and Pentecostal in its theology and ethos. History In 1985 there was no Pentecostal theological college in Victoria. In response to this, a British AOG pastor, Ps. Alun Davies, began Harvest Bible College on the property of the church he pastored. Initially, it ran as a non-government accredited college. With Dr Scott Wilson and then Dr Kameel Majdali as Principals, the College then became the first Pentecostal college in Australia to be accredited by the government, and the first to offer a Licentiate. Alphacrucis College (AC, formerly Commonwealth Bible College and Southern Cross College) is a tertiary Christian liberal arts college. In addition to being the largest self-accrediting Christian liberal arts College in Australia, it is the official training college of Australian Christian Churches, the Assemblies of God in Australia. Andrew Chan
Andrew Chan (; 12 January 1984 – 29 April 2015) was an Australian man who was convicted and executed in Indonesia for drug trafficking as a member of the Bali Nine. In 2005, Chan was arrested at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar. According to court testimonies of convicted drug mules, Chan and Myuran Sukumaran were the co-ringleaders of the heroin smuggling operation from Indonesia to Australia. After a criminal trial on February 14, 2006, Chan was sentenced to execution by firing squad by the Denpasar District Court. After lodging an appeal against Chan’s sentence, his appeal was dismissed by the Indonesian Supreme Court on 10 May 2011. His plea for clemency was rejected by the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, on 22 January 2015. The execution was carried out on 29 April 2015.
