Hartmut Hopp
Hartmut Wilhelm Hopp (born May 24, 1944, in Western Pomerania) was the doctor of the religious sect and commune called Colonia Dignidad in Chile and the right hand of its leader Paul Schäfer, and follower of the teachings of William Branham. Hopp was sentenced by a Chilean court to five years in prison for complicity in child abuse committed by Paul Schäfer, but he fled the country for Germany and, as a German citizen, was not extradited to Chile by the Federal Republic. Colonia Dignidad Hartmut Hopp joined the Private Sociale Mission e. V. in Lohmar-Heide near Siegburg, the community of the later Colonia Dignidad founder Paul Schäfer. Colonia Dignidad
Colonia Dignidad ("Dignity Colony") was an isolated colony of Germans established in post-World War II Chile by emigrant Germans which became notorious for the internment, torture, and murder of dissidents during the military dictatorship of General Augusto Pinochet in the 1970s while under the leadership of German emigre preacher Paul Schäfer. Colonia Dignidad has been described as a "state within a state". Schäfer and members of the colony were deeply religious and followed the teachings of William Branham. The main legal economic activity of the colony was agriculture; at various periods it also was home to a school, a hospital, two airstrips, a restaurant, and a power station. Paul Schäfer
Paul Schäfer Schneider (4 December 1921 – 24 April 2010) was a Nazi, child rapist, German-Chilean Christian minister and the founder and leader of a sect and agricultural commune of 300 German immigrants called Colonia Dignidad (''Dignity Colony'') (later renamed Villa Baviera) located in Parral in southern Chile, about south of Santiago from 1961 to 2005. Schäfer led his followers in the teachings of William Branham. Aside from human rights abuses against members of Colonia Dignidad, including the sexual and physical abuse (including torture) of young children, Schäfer maintained a relationship with Pinochet's military dictatorship (1973–1990) and was involved in weapons smuggling and the torture and extrajudicial killings of political dissidents. William Branham
William Marrion Branham (April 6, 1909 – December 24, 1965) was an American Christian minister and faith healer who initiated the post-World War II healing revival, and claimed to be a prophet with the anointing of Elijah, who had come to prelude Christ's second coming; some of his followers have been labeled a "doomsday cult". He is credited as "a principal architect of restorationist thought" for charismatics by some Christian historians, and has been called the "leading individual in the Second Wave of Pentecostalism." The Dirección de Inteligencia Nacional ( en, National Intelligence Directorate) or DINA was the secret police of Chile during the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. The DINA has been referred to as "Pinochet's Gestapo". Established in November 1973 as a Chilean Army intelligence unit headed by Colonel Manuel Contreras and vice-director Raúl Iturriaga, the DINA was then separated from the army and made an independent administrative unit in June 1974 under the auspices of Decree 521. Patricio Aylwin Azócar (; 26 November 1918 – 19 April 2016) was a Chilean politician from the Christian Democratic Party, lawyer, author, professor and former senator. Ewald Frank (24 December 1933 – 8 June 2024) was a German preacher, founder and director of the center, Freie Volksmission (Free People's Mission), a free church in Krefeld. Biography Ewald Frank was born in 1933 in the Danzig region. He lived in West Germany after the end of World War II. Until 1955, he devoted himself to personal study of the Bible. After large demonstrations by the American preacher William M. Branham and others in Karlsruhe, a small circle of followers formed in Krefeld, of which Frank became the leader.
