Hartmut Ebbing
Hartmut Ebbing (born 13 May 1956) is a German politician of the Free Democratic Party (FDP) who has been serving as a member of the Bundestag from the state of Berlin from 2017 to 2021. Early life and career After graduating from the Beethoven Gymnasium in Lankwitz in 1975, Ebbing completed a bank apprenticeship and then studied business administration at the Technical University of Berlin and the University of Illinois, USA. He completed this in 1984 with a degree in business administration. Parallel to his studies, Ebbing worked for Berliner Bank. From 1984 to 1991, he worked for the auditing company KPMG in Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg and Berlin and also passed the tax advisor and auditor exams during this time. Bundestag
The Bundestag (, "Federal Diet") is the German federal parliament. It is the only federal representative body that is directly elected by the German people. It is comparable to the United States House of Representatives or the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. Foundation For The Humboldt Forum In The Berlin Palace
The Foundation for the Humboldt Forum in the Berlin Palace (german: Stiftung Humboldt Forum im Berliner Schloss) is a German foundation established by the Government of Germany to create the Humboldt Forum museum in the reconstructed City Palace, Berlin. It works closely with the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media. The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe (german: Denkmal für die ermordeten Juden Europas), also known as the Holocaust Memorial (German: ''Holocaust-Mahnmal''), is a memorial in Berlin to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust, designed by architect Peter Eisenman and Buro Happold. It consists of a site covered with 2,711 concrete slabs or "stelae", arranged in a grid pattern on a sloping field. The original plan was to place nearly 4,000 slabs, but after the recalculation, the number of slabs that could legally fit into the designated areas was 2,711. The stelae are long, wide and vary in height from . They are organized in rows, 54 of them going north–south, and 87 heading east–west at right angles but set slightly askew. Haus der Geschichte (officially ''Haus der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik Deutschland'', i.e. "House of the History of the Federal Republic of Germany") is a museum of contemporary history in Bonn, Germany. 2017 German Federal Election
Federal elections were held in Germany on 24 September 2017 to elect the members of the 19th Bundestag. At stake were at least 598 seats in the Bundestag, as well as 111 overhang and leveling seats determined thereafter. The Christian Democratic Union of Germany and the Christian Social Union of Bavaria ( CDU/CSU), led by incumbent chancellor Angela Merkel, won the highest percentage of the vote with 33%, though it suffered a large swing against it of more than 8%. The Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) achieved its worst result since post-war Germany at 21%.
