Harry Robinson (darts Player)
Harry Robinson (born 27 December 1969 from Eden, Cumbria) is a former English professional darts player. Who currently playing in the Professional Darts Corporation tournaments. He used to play rugby union, before switching to darts. Career From Eden, Cumbria, Robinson originally started his sporting career playing rugby union, before switching to darts in 1990, reaching the final of the BDO German Open that year. After switching to the PDC, he played in the 1997 World Matchplay, losing to Mick Manning in the first round. His big breakthrough came in the 1998 PDC World Darts Championship, when he won Group 8. After losing to the American Steve Brown in his first match, he needed a big win against 3rd seed Alan Warriner to qualify for the quarter-finals, and thanks to whitewashing him 3–0, he topped the group by set difference. Eden, Cumbria
Eden is a Non-metropolitan district, local government district in Cumbria, England, based at Penrith Town Hall in Penrith, Cumbria, Penrith. It is named after the River Eden, Cumbria, River Eden, which flows north through the district toward Carlisle, Cumbria, Carlisle. Alan Warriner
Alan Warriner-Little (born Warriner; 24 March 1962) is an English former professional darts player. Nicknamed The Iceman, he is a former World Grand Prix champion and a former runner-up at the World Professional Darts Championship. Darts career Before coming to prominence as a darts professional, Warriner-Little appeared as a contestant in a 1987 edition of the ITV gameshow Bullseye whilst working as a State Enrolled Nurse on Ward 13 Upper at Lancaster Moor Hospital. He scored 257 the following year when he was invited back to throw for charity. He made his World Championship debut in 1989, losing a second-round match to Jocky Wilson in a sudden death leg, after missing 8 match darts, with Wilson going on to win the tournament for his second World Championship. Sean Downs
Sean Downs (born February 6 1967) is an American former professional darts player who played in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Career Originally from Oregon, Downs first competed in the BDO World Darts Championship in 1993, where he lost 3-0 to Albert Anstey. After switching to the PDC, he was brought in to make up the numbers in the inaugural 1994 WDC World Darts Championship, and lost both his group matches to Eric Bristow and Rod Harrington. In the following three years, he would win one game and lose one game each year, never getting out of the group stages. He did make the 1996 World Matchplay quarter-finals after beating Keith Deller and Cliff Lazarenko, before losing to eventual champion Peter Evison. Downs quit the PDC in 2018. 1999 PDC World Darts Championship
The 1999 Skol World Darts Championship was held between 28 December 1998 and 3 January 1999 at the Circus Tavern in Purfleet, Essex. After five years, organisers of the Professional Darts Corporation scrapped the group stages and the tournament became a straight knock-out for the first time. The third-place play-off which had been a feature for the previous two years was also abandoned. The field was expanded from 24 to 32 players – the biggest influx of players since the PDC separated from the British Darts Organisation in 1992–93. Phil Taylor emerged as champion for the fifth successive year, taking his overall tally to seven World Championships. Keith Deller
Keith Kelvin Deller (born 24 December 1959) is an English former professional darts player best known for winning the 1983 BDO World Darts Championship and Unipart British Professional Championship in 1987. He was the first qualifier ever to win the championship and remains one of the youngest champions in history. For his world championship win, Deller used 18-gram spring-loaded darts, later banned for tournament play but now legal again. Career BDO Deller's victory over Eric Bristow in the 1983 BDO World Darts Championship by 6 sets to 5 was probably the biggest upset in the history of the championship. He had also beaten world number 3 John Lowe in the quarter finals and defending champion and world number 2 Jocky Wilson in the semi-final to become the only player in history to defeat the world's top three ranked players in the World Championship.
