Harry Palmer
Harry Palmer is the anti-hero protagonist of a number of films based on the unnamed main character, a secret agent, in the spy novels written by Len Deighton. Michael Caine played Harry Palmer in three of the four films based on the four published novels featuring this character, ''The Ipcress File'' (1965), ''Funeral in Berlin'' (1966) and ''Billion Dollar Brain'' (1967). Caine also starred as this character in two other films not directly based on Deighton's novels. ''The Times'' called Caine "the epitome of Sixties cool in his first outing as the secret agent Harry Palmer". A trailer for his second role as Palmer described him as possessing "horn rims, cockney wit and an iron fist". Harry Palmer (actor)
Harry Palmer (c.1889-1962) was a vaudeville actor in the 1910s who was the inspiration for the musical film '' For Me and My Gal''. Palmer was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1889. He grew up always wanted to act, and in 1909, at the age of 20, he made his vaudeville debut at the Palace Theater in Chicago. Just a few years later, Palmer rose to stardom, acting in comedies and musicals by himself, until late 1916 when he teamed up with Joanne 'Jo' Hayden. Their act, "Palmer & Hayden", stayed together until they retired from show business in the 1920s. In mid-1917, the two became engaged. In September 1917, Hayden's good friend Danny Metcalf, who was supposed to finish medical school, was drafted into the U.S. Army, and was killed in action in World War I on September 29 of that year. Harry S. Palmer was an animator in the United States. About 20 of his films are preserved in the Library of Congress. He worked at Gaumont Film Company's American division in Flushing, New York. In 1911, a notice was printed advertising his becoming a contributor to the '' Vancouver World''. On December 14, 1912, the ''Vancouver Sun'' published his cartoon mocking the U.S. for not heeding calls for Panama Canal arbitration. One news brief stated he was working on animations titled Kriterion Komic Kartoon. Showings of Mutual's '' See America First'' series were sometimes accompanied by Palmer's cartoon films including ''They Say Pigs is Pigs'' (1917) and ''Rastus Runs Amuck'', shown with a ''See America First'' film about sights in Oregon and along the Mississippi River. Harry Edmore Palmer (October 30, 1930 – November 2, 2020) was a Canadian photographer. Background Harry Palmer graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1951 and was working as a mechanical engineer when he discovered documentary photography. In 1984 Palmer left the oil and gas industry for photography. He attended workshops, worked with photographers such as Dr. Harry Thomson and Paul Caponigro, and studied paintings to learn composition, color, and lighting. Palmer died on November 2, 2020, at the age of 90. Works Palmer's photographs have been featured on stamps by Canada Post in 2003 and on Alberta's 2005 Centennial Stamp. Harry Zephaniah Johnson (6 July 1945 – 3 April 2013), known by the stage name Harry J, was a Jamaican reggae record producer. The Avatar Course, often simply called Avatar, is a series of LGAT self-development courses founded in 1986 by Harry Palmer and run by his privately held company, Star's Edge, Inc., which trains and licenses Avatar Masters (teachers) to deliver the Avatar Course globally. Olive Evangeline Diefenbaker (''née'' Freeman; April 14, 1902 – December 22, 1976) was the second wife of John Diefenbaker, the 13th Prime Minister of Canada. Diefenbaker proposed to her in Paddockwood, Saskatchewan, while she was a school teacher, and they were married on December 8, 1953. Ford Theatre (band)
Ford Theatre was an American psychedelic rock band from Boston, Massachusetts, that were active between 1966 and 1971. Their sound was similar to other Boston-based psychedelic rock bands of the era, but more genuine. History The band formed from the members of The Continentals (Jimmy Altieri, John Mazzarelli, Robert Tamagni, and Butch Webster), who then recruited Harry Palmer and Joe Scott. Although they existed during the period, the group disassociates itself with the Bosstown Sound.
