Harry Joe Brown
Harry Joe Brown (September 22, 1890 – April 28, 1972) was an American film producer, and earlier a theatre and film director. Biography Harry Joe Brown was born in 1890 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As a producer, he had a partnership with director Budd Boetticher, actor Randolph Scott and screenwriter Burt Kennedy, which generated a series of five westerns between 1957 and 1960 (''The Tall T, Decision at Sundown, Buchanan Rides Alone, Ride Lonesome, Comanche Station'') via a company he created with Scott which eventually became known as Ranown Pictures Corp. He produced the American debut films of both Errol Flynn in '' Captain Blood'' and Sean Flynn in ''Son of Captain Blood''. Harry Truman Brown (October 22, 1948 January 10, 2021) was an American basketball player and educator who promoted the game of basketball in the Toronto area. Career Born in Pittsburgh to Cornelius and Emma Brown, Brown was a basketball player at Connelly Tech and the University of Oklahoma (1966–1970). Graduating in 1970 he played professional basketball, trying out with the Detroit Pistons as well as with the Dallas Cowboys of the NFL. In the early 1970s he moved to Toronto and became a special education teacher with the Scarborough Board of Education/ Toronto District School Board. Harry Ernest Browne (19 June 1874 – 10 January 1944) was an English first-class cricketer and British Indian Army officer. The son of Colonel Charles Michael Browne, he was born in British India at Dharwar. He attended the Royal Military College at Sandhurst, graduating in October 1894 as a second lieutenant with a view to appointment to the Indian Staff Corps. He was appointed to the Corps in February 1896, While serving in British India, Brown played first-class cricket for the Europeans cricket team on eight occasions in the Bombay Quadrangular, Bombay Presidency Match between 1895 and 1900. He scored 126 runs at an batting average (cricket), average of 10.50 in his eight matches, with a highest score of 23. Harry Edson Browne (June 17, 1933 – March 1, 2006) was an American writer, politician, and investment advisor. He was the Libertarian Party's Presidential nominee in the U.S. elections of 1996 and 2000. He authored 12 books that in total have sold more than 2 million copies. Career Armed services He was inducted into the U.S. Army on May 5, 1953. He went to the Southwestern Signal Corps Training Center at Camp San Luis Obispo, California to study cryptography. On October 4, 1953, he was sent to Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands, where the 1954 Operation Castle hydrogen bomb tests were conducted. In 1955 Browne was sent to Eniwetok to finish his tour of duty and afterwards was transferred to the Army Reserves at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. He was released from active military service on July 17, 1956. He was honorably discharged from the armed forces on February 28, 1961, and discharged from the Army Reserves on July 1, 1961. Harry Gunnison Brown (May 7, 1880– March 11, 1975) was a Georgist economist teaching at Yale in the early 20th century. Paul Samuelson named Brown in a list of "American saints in economics" that included only 6 other economists born after 1860. Harry Brown (born 21 June 1994) is an English para sports person from Halifax, West Yorkshire who has represented England at wheelchair rugby league and Great Britain in wheelchair basketball in numerous international tournaments. He currently plays only wheelchair basketball for BSR AMIAB Albacete in Spain. Background Harry Brown lost his legs to meningitis as a baby. He began playing wheelchair rugby league at aged 11, later getting his older brother (and future club and international teammate) Jack into the sport. He started playing wheelchair basketball aswell before adulthood. Wheelchair Rugby League Club Brown spent most of his club carrer at Halifax alongside Jack. He won the inaugural 2019 Super League title with Halifax. Brown moved permanently to wheelchair basketball before the 2021 Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup but made a one match return for Halifax against Wigan in the 2024 Wheelchair Super League.
