Harry Joe Brown
Harry Joe Brown (September 22, 1890 – April 28, 1972) was an American film producer, and earlier a theatre and film director. Biography Harry Joe Brown was born in 1890 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As a producer, he had a partnership with director Budd Boetticher, actor Randolph Scott and screenwriter Burt Kennedy, which generated a series of five westerns between 1957 and 1960 (''The Tall T, Decision at Sundown, Buchanan Rides Alone, Ride Lonesome, Comanche Station'') via a company he created with Scott which eventually became known as Ranown Pictures Corp. He produced the American debut films of both Errol Flynn in '' Captain Blood'' and Sean Flynn in ''Son of Captain Blood''. Harry Edson Browne (June 17, 1933 – March 1, 2006) was an American writer, politician, and investment advisor. He was the Libertarian Party's Presidential nominee in the U.S. elections of 1996 and 2000. He authored 12 books that in total have sold more than 2 million copies. Career Armed services He was inducted into the U.S. Army on May 5, 1953. He went to the Southwestern Signal Corps Training Center at Camp San Luis Obispo, California to study cryptography. On October 4, 1953, he was sent to Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands, where the 1954 Operation Castle hydrogen bomb tests were conducted. In 1955 Browne was sent to Eniwetok to finish his tour of duty and afterwards was transferred to the Army Reserves at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. He was released from active military service on July 17, 1956. He was honorably discharged from the armed forces on February 28, 1961, and discharged from the Army Reserves on July 1, 1961. Harry Gunnison Brown (May 7, 1880– March 11, 1975) was a Georgist economist teaching at Yale in the early 20th century. Paul Samuelson named Brown in a list of "American saints in economics" that included only 6 other economists born after 1860. Harry Truman Brown (October 22, 1948 January 10, 2021) was an American basketball player and educator who promoted the game of basketball in the Toronto area. Career Born in Pittsburgh to Cornelius and Emma Brown, Brown was a basketball player at Connelly Tech and the University of Oklahoma (1966–1970). Harold Thomas Brown (9 April 1924 – June 1982) was an English footballer who played as a goalkeeper for Queens Park Rangers, Notts County, Derby County and Plymouth Argyle. Club career Brown signed for Queens Park Rangers in 1940 and played during the war. He played for Colchester United while stationed at Colchester Garrison, making 12 Southern League appearances between October 1945 and April 1946. Brown also guested for Arsenal in a friendly against Dinamo Moscow in November 1945, alongside Stanley Matthews and Stan Mortensen. He entered the game after watching as a fan, as Arsenal's goalkeeper was concussed in the first half. Brown later joined Notts County (1946–1949) and Derby County (1949–1951) before rejoining QPR in 1951. He went on to play 189 league games for Rangers.
