Harries, Ohio
Harries is a historic community in Montgomery County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. History A mill was first built at Harries around 1820; the place was later called Smithville, after George W. Smith bought the property. Other early variant names were Harries Station, Harriesville, Harshman, Harshmansville, and Harshmanville. A post office called Harshmanville was established in 1850, the name was changed to Harshman in 1885, and the post office closed in 1914. Harries and Harshman were the names of the proprietors of local mills and other enterprises. Riverside is a city in Montgomery County, Ohio, United States. A suburb of Dayton, The population was 25,201 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area. Geography Riverside is located at (39.778858, -84.123094). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , of which is land and is water. In 1994, Riverside merged with the surrounding Mad River Township. This merger resulted in the creation of several separated sections of the city in parts of the township that had experienced annexations by Dayton, Huber Heights, and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. There are a total of six disconnected sections of the city. The southernmost section comprises four smaller sections that are attached solely by annexed roadways and not surrounding properties.
