Harlequin Ladies Football Club
Harlequins Women, formerly known as Harlequins Ladies, are a women's rugby union club based in Guildford, Surrey, England and in Twickenham, Middlesex, England. They were founded in 1995 as the women's team of Harlequin F.C. and rebranded in 2017 after merging with Aylesford Bulls Ladies, Aylesford Bulls. In 2017, they were selected as one of the franchises for the new Premier 15s league, but they also cater for new, aspiring and social players within their 3rd XV squad. History Beginnings Harlequins Ladies were founded in 1995 as the women's team of Harlequin F.C. They initially played their home games at Centaurs RFC, Grasshoppers RFC, Old Isleworthians RFC and at Harlequins' previous training base at Richardson Evans Memorial Playing Fields in Roehampton. Twickenham Stoop Stadium (informally referred to as The Stoop) is a sports stadium located in south-west London, England. The stadium is home to Harlequins rugby union team, who play in the Gallagher Premiership. The stadium has a capacity of 14,800 and is situated just across the road from Twickenham Stadium. Aylesford
Aylesford is a village and civil parish on the River Medway in Kent, England, northwest of Maidstone. Emily Robinson (born 22 June 2000) is an English rugby union player. She plays for Harlequins Women domestically and is a member of England's 2021 Women's Six Nations Championship squad as one of six development players. International career In September 2020 Robinson was invited to train with the England squad. In 2021 she was called up to the country's Women's Six Nations squad as a development player. Bethan Dainton
Bethan Dainton (born 12 April 1989) is a Welsh rugby league player who plays as for Leeds Rhinos. She formerly played rugby union as back row for the Wales women's national rugby union team and Harlequins Women in the Allianz's Premier 15s. She made her debut for the Wales national squad in 2016, and represented them at the 2021 Women's Six Nations Championship. Jade Konkel
Jade Elizabeth Konkel is a professional rugby union player who plays her club rugby with Harlequins Women in the Allianz Premier 15s. She is a Number 8 and has represented the Scottish national team since 2013. Club career After moving to Glasgow to attend university, Konkel played for Hillhead Jordanhill Rugby Football Club. It was while at the club that she made history by becoming Scottish Rugby's first full-time female player in the summer of 2016. Victoria Cornborough (born 3 March 1990) is an English rugby union player. She debuted for England in 2015. She was named in the 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup squad for England. She was awarded a full-time contract with England in 2019 and plays for Harlequins Women at club level. International career Cornborough first played for England in the U19s and U20s teams, winning the U20s Nations Cup in 2009 before making her international debut as part of the senior team in 2015. Shaunagh Brown (born 15 March 1990) is a former English rugby union player and former hammer thrower. In rugby union she represented England and Harlequins Women until her retirement in December 2022. She made her debut for the England national team in 2017 against Canada. Brown represented England in the hammer throw event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, and has also worked as a gas engineer, firefighter, and commercial diver. Flight Lieutenant Amy Victoria Fiona Cokayne (born 11 July 1996) is an English rugby union player. She made her international debut for England in 2015 against Italy. She was named in the 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup squad for England. Gillian Bourke (born 28 August 1984) is a female rugby union player. She represented at the 2010 and 2014 Women's Rugby World Cup, where she was voted the Number 2 position in the WRWC Team of the Tournament. She has 51 caps for Ireland, playing from 2008 to 2015, winning the Six Nations Grand Slam in 2013, and the Six Nations Championship in 2015. 2021–22 Premier 15s
The 2021–22 Premier 15s is the 5th season of the Premier 15s (23rd including editions of the previous Women's Premiership), of the top flight of English domestic women's rugby union competition and the second to be sponsored by Allianz. Incorporated in the season also was the inaugural Allianz Cup, a women's equivalent of the Premiership Rugby Cup. 2022–23 Premier 15s
The 2022–23 Premier 15s is the 6th season of the Premier 15s, the highest tier of English domestic women's rugby union competition (the 24th season including editions of the previous Women's Premiership), and the 3rd to be sponsored by Allianz. The competition schedule was adapted to take place in a shortened timeframe, compared with previous seasons, in order to accommodate the 2021 Rugby World Cup. For the second year running, the Allianz Cup will take place alongside the league, with fixtures for this cup competition scheduled within the international windows during the season. Gloucester-Hartpury Women's Rugby Football Club is a women's rugby union club based in Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England. They are the unified women's team of Gloucester Rugby and Hartpury University R.F.C. They were founded in 2014 and as of 2017, play in the Premier 15s. History In 2014, Gloucester and Hartpury College came together to found a women's team to be run under the jurisdiction of Gloucester Rugby to capitalise upon the popularity of women's rugby in the area. Hartpury College already had a women's team competing in the British Universities and Colleges Sport rugby union leagues.
