Harcharan Singh Brar
Harcharan Singh Brar (21 January 1922 – 6 September 2009) was an Indian politician belonging to the Punjab unit of Indian National Congress. He was the 13th Chief Minister of Punjab and held this position from 31 August 1995 to 21 November 1996. He succeeded the assassinated Chief Minister Beant Singh. At the time he was member of Punjab Vidhan Sabha from Muktsar Assembly Constituency. Personal life Harcharan Singh Brar, son of Sardar Balwant Singh Brar, was born on 21 January 1919 into a Brar Jat of Sarai Naga Royal Family, which lies along National Highway 16 between Sri Muktsar Sahib and Kot Kapura. He studied at Aitchison College and later graduated from Government College, Lahore. He married twice. His first wife was Jagir Kaur, daughter of Sardar Karnail Singh Sandhu of village Bhutter near Sadiq town in district Faridkot. Giddarbaha
Giddarbaha, is a town and a municipal council in Muktsar district, in the Indian state of Punjab. Under British rule During that time, it took the shape of a town from the small village and when the Britishers reached here they wrongly pronounced the town name as Giddarbaha. They planned a new walled city in 1909 with six gates and carved the name on the gates as Giddarbaha. From there people accepted the name and started pronouncing the same. In 1917, the British government established the Bathinda - Karachi railway line, to transport the goods from this part of India to Karachi. Giddarbaha Railway Station was established on the line in 1918 which divided the old and new city. The railway station was established near the clock house gate and is very close to the bus stand. Sri Muktsar Sahib (/ʃriː ˈmʊktsər saːhɪb/) (often referred to as Muktsar (/ˈmʊktsər/)) is a historical city and district headquarters in Punjab, India. The 2011 Census of India put the total population of Sri Muktsar Sahib municipality to 117,085, making it the 14th largest city of Punjab, in terms of population. Historically known as Khidrana or Khidrane di dhab, the city was made the district headquarters in 1995. Chronological evidence indicates that the city was named Muktsar after the battle of Muktsar in 1705. Adesh Kanwarjit Singh Brar
Adesh Kanwarjit Singh Brar (1949 - 2012) was an Indian farmer, politician and Congress MLA from the Punjab state of India. He was the son of former Chief Minister of Punjab, Harcharan Singh Brar. He completed his schooling from The Doon School (1957). Became an MLA in 1977, 2007 respectively. Pratap Singh Kairon
Partap Singh Kairon (1 October 1901 – 6 February 1965) was the Chief Minister of the Punjab province (then comprising Punjab, Haryana and part of Himachal Pradesh), and is widely acknowledged as the architect of post-Independence Punjab Province (or Punjab, Haryana and Himachal as of today). Moreover, he was an Indian independence movement leader. He was jailed twice by the British Empire, once for five years for organizing protests against British rule. Aitchison College ( ur, ایچیسن کالج) is an independent, semi-private boys school for boarding and day students from grade 1–13 in Lahore, Pakistan. Kot Kapura
Kot Kapura is a historic city in Faridkot district, some 50 km from Bathinda, 40 km from Moga and 30 km from Muktsar in the state of Punjab, India. It is the largest city in the Faridkot District and has a large cotton market. It takes around 15 minutes by bus from Faridkot, 4 hours by road from Chandigarh and 2 hours from Ludhiana, and 8 hours from New Delhi by train to reach the city.
