Harald Steen
Harald Steen (April 2, 1886 – April 18, 1941) was a Norwegian tenor and actor. Steen debuted at the National Theater in Oslo in 1902 and remained there until 1908. He was engaged with the Central Theater from 1908 to 1927. With his spirited mood, smooth characterization, and excellent voice, he was a key actor for much of the theater's repertoire of comedies, operettas, and operas. He made his film debut in 1916 in the Danish silent film '' Strandvaskeren''. Harald Steen was married to the actress Signe Heide Steen, and he was the father of Randi Heide Steen, Harald Heide Steen, and Kari Diesen. Kari Diesen
Kari Diesen (née Heide-Steen; 24 June 1914 – 18 March 1987) was a Norwegian singer and revue actress. She worked for the revue theatre Chat Noir from 1937 to 1953, and for the Edderkoppen Theatre from 1954 to 1959. She participated in 24 films between 1941 and 1985. Among her best known song recordings is her version of "Hovedøen". Personal life Kari Heide-Steen was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway as the daughter of Harald Steen (1886–1941) and Signe Heide Steen (1881–1959). She was sister of actor Harald Heide Steen, and aunt of actor Harald Heide-Steen Jr. She was sister of opera singer Randi Heide Steen and thus aunt of Randi's daughter actress Anne Marit Jacobsen. She was married to actor and theatre director Ernst Diesen (1914–70), and was the mother of NRK writer and director Andreas Diesen. Randi Heide Steen
Randi Heide Steen (15 December 1909 – 12 November 1990) was a Norwegian soprano singer. Biography Steen was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. Her parents, Harald Steen (1886–1941) and Signe Heide Steen (1881–1959), were both actors and singers who performed on stage and in opera. Her sister Kari Diesen (1914–1987) was a singer and revue actress. Her brother Harald Heide Steen (1911–1980) was a film actor. His son, Harald Heide-Steen Jr. (1939–2008), was a radio performer, actor, and comedian. Steen was a student of opera singer Borghild Langaard (1883–1939). She was also trained by vocalist Haldis Isene (1891–1978), wife of opera singer Ola Isene (1898–1973). She made her operetta debut at the Casino Theatre in Oslo during 1927 and her concert debut in 1931. She performed at both the National Theatre and at Chat Noir in Oslo. ''Hansen og Hansen'' (Hansen and Hansen) is a Norwegian film from 1941. It was directed by Alfred Maurstad. The main roles were played by Liv Bredal and Carsten Winger. The film is based on Finn Bø's play ''Konge for en natt'' (King for One Night), which had been staged at the New Theater. A competition was held for the best theme song for the film. Three hundred manuscripts were submitted, and Jens Larsen from Stavanger won. Finn Bø then wrote the lyrics and title for the melody. The film was a great success at the cinema in 1941. Plot Carsten Winger stars as a young unknown man named Hansen that ends up in a boarding house in the western part of Oslo on the same day that another man named Hansen ( Axel Kielland), a real charmer, is expected. ''Gullfjellet'' (Gold Mountain) is a Norwegian film from 1941 based on ''Guldfjeldet'', a comedy by Ove Ansteinsson about farmers tempted to invest all their money in a gold bonanza. The film was directed by Rasmus Breistein and Titus Vibe-Müller. Plot The city boy Rolf Rønne arrives at Benningstad, a large farm in Hedemark, and gets to work. He meets Jørgen Krullerstugun and lies that he has found gold at Kråkberget, which is on Hans Benningstad's property. Jørgen makes his own investigations at Kråkberget and finds mica and mistakes it for gold. At night, he brings home large quantities of the stone and fills his living room and bedrooms. As rumors spread, purchasing bids start pouring in. The landowner does not want to sell, but he gives up when the gold find is announced in the newspapers.
