Happiness (Pizzaman Song)
"Happiness" is a song by British electronic music duo Pizzaman, which consisted of John Reid and Norman Cook, released in 1995 as the third single from their only album, ''Pizzamania'' (1995). It contains a sample of "Five Songs by Four Voices" performed by English poet, artist and musician Edward Barton, and uses a backbeat from "Break 4 Love" by Raze. The song peaked at number 19 on the UK Singles Chart and number three on the UK Dance Chart. Del Monte Foods corporation used "Happiness" in a UK fruit juice ad. Critical reception Alan Jones from ''Music Week'' wrote, "Easily my favourite single of the week is "Happiness", the barnstorming release from Norman Cook's latest alter-ego Pizzaman. Pizzaman were a British electronic music duo consisting of John Reid (born 17 December 1963) and Norman Cook (born 16 July 1963). Biography Their debut album, "Pizzamania", was released in 1995. The album spawned three singles (with videos directed by Michael Dominic) all of which reached the top forty on the UK Singles Chart. The highest charting of these was "Happiness" (#19), until " Trippin' on Sunshine" performed slightly better (#18) when it was re-released the following year. Despite this success, however, the only follow-up material was the 1996 single "Hello Honky Tonks (Rock Your Body)". " Sex on the Streets" sampled a part of a 1974 sermon by American evangelist Jack van Impe. The Official Charts (legal name: The Official UK Charts Company Limited) is a British inter-professional organization that compiles various "official" record charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland and France. Michael Dominic (born June 18, 1970) is an American filmmaker and photojournalist who grew up in New York City. He is best known for his documentary '' Sunshine Hotel'', which won three awards for best documentary. Early life Dominic was born in Washington D.C., the son of Stephanie and Joseph Dominic. In 1971 his family moved to the Riverdale section of the Bronx, New York. He studied film at School of Visual Arts in New York City from 1990 to 1993.
