Hapoel Jerusalem Basketball Club ( he, מועדון כדורסל הפועל ירושלים), known for sponsorship reasons as Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem (הפועל בנק יהב ירושלים‎), is a professional basketball club based in the City of Jerusalem, Israel, and competes in the Israeli Basketball Premier League (the top tier of Israeli basketball), the Israeli State Cup, and the Basketball Champions League. It has won several titles, including the ULEB Cup (now called EuroCup) in 2004, the Israeli Basketball Premier League championship in 2015 and 2017, and six state Cups. In 2013, a new ownership group took over, and the club has since seen a remarkable advancement and expansion. The team began playing in the Pais Arena in 2014. Aleksandar Džikić ( sr, Александар Џикић; born 23 March 1971) is a Serbian professional basketball coach and current head coach of Hapoel Jerusalem. Coaching career Early career KK Partizan youth system Džikić began his coaching career in 1991 by getting hired to a staff position within the KK Partizan youth system, assisting youth team head coach Dragan Dragosavac. Adi Gordon ( he, עדי גורדון; born March 4, 1966) is an Israeli former professional basketball player. He was a two-time Israeli State Cup winner with Hapoel Jerusalem. He was a four-time Israeli Premier League Assists Leader, in 1992 to 1994, and 1996. Gordon is widely considered one of the greatest point guards in Israeli basketball history. Guma Leandro Aguiar (May 31, 1977 – disappeared June 19, 2012; declared legally dead January 29, 2015) was a Brazilian-born American energy industrialist and millionaire businessman who split his time between the United States and Israel.
