Hapee Toothpaste
The 2002 Philippine Team-Hapee Toothpaste is one of the two teams which sponsored a national pool that played in the 2002 PBA Governors' Cup as part of the league's continued support to the Philippine men's national basketball team that will compete in the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea. A total of 30 players were picked and divided into two groups. National team coach Jong Uichico serves as the monitoring body on the overall progress of the two training squads. Eric Altamirano
Frederick "Eric" Altamirano (born August 8, 1966 in Davao City) is a former Filipino basketball player and he formerly the assistant coach of the Alaska Aces. In the present he is the commissioner of Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3 He was part of the Philippine national team that played at the 1986 Asian Games. He is the former head coach of the National University Bulldogs from 2011 to 2016. Playing career Varsity Eric went to San Beda College for his high school education. The Philippines men's national basketball team ( fil, Pambansang koponan ng basketbol ng Pilipinas), commonly known as Gilas Pilipinas, is the basketball team representing the Philippines. Jong Uichico
Joseph Enrique Uichico (born July 15, 1962), better known as Jong Uichico, is a Filipino professional basketball coach who last coached the Bataan Risers in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. Uichico is a former Philippine national team Youth member and a former player and head coach of the La Salle Green Archers in the UAAP before replacing Ron Jacobs as SMB coach in 1999. Uichico was coach of the San Miguel Beermen from 1999–2006, leading the Beermen to six PBA championships. Basketball career Uichico played for the La Salle Green Archers in the collegiate ranks. He was a member of the 1982 RP Youth Team that won the ABC Under-18 Championship. The Metropolitan Basketball Association (MBA), or Metroball, was a professional basketball league in the Philippines that ran from March 7, 1998, to July 26, 2002. History The MBA played its first game on March 7, 1998, at the Don Narciso Ramos Sports Complex in Lingayen, Pangasinan. Unlike the Philippine Basketball Association, in which teams represent companies, the MBA teams represented a particular city, province or island in the country. The league brought basketball closer to the people, and it raided the PBA for talent. The MBA was widely viewed as broadcast giant ABS-CBN's attempt to undermine the PBA after failing to snatch its broadcast rights in 1998.
