Hansei University
Hansei University () is a mid-sized Evangelical Christian University located in Gunpo City near Seoul, South Korea. History In 1953, Assemblies of God missionaries established the Full Gospel Bible College. In 1997, the name was changed to Hansei University and became a fully accredited university by the South Korean government. It is affiliated with Yoido Full Gospel Church. Programs It has currently nine departments: Theology, Media and Communication Arts, Business Administration, Humanities and Social Science, International Language, Information Technology, Art, Design, and Nursing The university is widely recognized especially for choral music. Choi Ja-shil
Choi Ja-shil or Choi Ja-sil (; 25 August 1915 – 8 November 1989) was a Korean pentecostal pastor. She and her future son-in-law, Cho Yong-gi, founded the Yoido Full Gospel Church. Biography Choi was born in 1915 in Hwanghae Province, in what is now part of North Korea. As her father died when she was young, Choi assisted her mother in her sewing business to earn an income for the family. When she was twelve years old, Choi and her mother attended the tent revival meeting led by the holiness preacher Lee Sung-Bong and became a Christian. She pursued education in nursing and, after moving to Seoul, started a new business. Despite her successes, Choi suffered the death of her mother and eldest daughter within a week and a half of one another, as well as the failure of her business. David Yonggi Cho (14 February 1936 – 14 September 2021 as Paul Yungi Cho) was a South Korean Christian minister. With his mother-in-law Choi Ja-shil, he was a cofounder of the Yoido Full Gospel Church (Assemblies of God), the world's largest congregation, with a membership of 830,000 (). Early life Cho was born on 14 February 1936, in Ulju-gun, now part of Ulsan metropolitan city. The son of Cho Doo-chun and Kim Bok-sun, Cho was the eldest of five brothers and four sisters. Turbo (South Korean Band)
Turbo ( ko, 터보) was a South Korean dance-oriented group, mostly popular during the late 1990s to early 2000s. The group was originally a duo consisting of Kim Jong-kook and Kim Jung-nam. In early 1997, Kim Jung-nam left the group and Kim Jong-kook later continued promotion with new member Mikey. They became one of the biggest stars in the Korean entertainment industry during their active time between 1995 and 2001 and sold millions of albums and records across Asia. Gunpo
Gunpo (군포; ), formerly romanized as Kunp'o, is a small city in South Korea's Gyeonggi Province, located south of Seoul in the Seoul National Capital Area. It borders Anyang to the north, Uiwang to the east, and Ansan to the south and west, and is connected to its neighbors and to Seoul by lines 1 and 4 of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway. Gunpo is also home to three stops on the Gyeongbu Line, a national railway that links it to the rest of the country. Although 73.2% of the city is greenspace, owing largely to Surisan and various smaller mountains, Gunpo is home to over 286,000 residents in several urban areas. Hyo-Won Woo
Hyo-Won Woo (also Hyowon Woo, , born 1974) is a South Korean composer, especially of choral music. She uses elements from both Korean music and Western contemporary composition techniques. Career Woo was born in Seoul in 1974. Her father was an artist, her mother a pianist. She graduated from Sungshin Women's University. In 1995 she became composer in residence with the Seoul Ladies' Singers, conducted by Hak-Won Yoon whom she had met singing as a student in the Yongrak Presbyterian Church Choir which he also conducted. She received a commission to compose a missa brevis for women's choir to be performed on an Asia tour in 1996. From 1999 she composed for the Incheon City Chorale, also conducted by Yoon.
