Hans Stangassinger
Hans Stangassinger (born 5 January 1960 in Berchtesgaden, Bavaria) was a West German luger who competed in the early 1980s. He won the gold medal in the men's doubles event at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo. Stangassinger also won two bronze medals in the men's doubles event at the FIL World Luge Championships (1981, 1983). At the FIL European Luge Championships, he also won two medals in the men's doubles event with a silver in 1984 and a bronze in 1982. Luge
A luge is a small one- or two-person sled on which one sleds supine (face up) and feet-first. A luger steers by using the calf muscles to flex the sled's runners or by exerting opposite shoulder pressure to the seat. Racing sleds weigh for singles and for doubles.
