Hans Nielsen Jeppesen
Hans Nielsen Jeppesen (15 February 1815 – 8 October 1883) was a Denmark, Danish merchant and ship-owner. He bought his first ship in 1850 and his fleet of merchant ships later grew to 10 ships. He was the maternal grandfather of Mærsk- founder Arnold Peter Møller. Early life and career Jeppesen was born on 15 February 1815 in Dragør, the son of Niels Taarnby Jeppesen and Marchen Hansdatter Møller. The family lived at Von Ostensgade 8. He went to sea in an early age and passed his exams as helmsman at the Navigation School, Copenhagen, Navigation School in 1835 but did not have enough practical experience to work as a helmsman until 1838. He began to work for Christian August Broberg, Chr. Broberg & Søn in 1841 and was on 28 May 1842 granted citizenship#Middle Ages, citizenship in Copenhagen. He was captain on Chr. Dragør () is the main town of Dragør Municipality, (Denmark), which includes the village of Store Magleby. The city hall and seat of the municipal council lies on Kirkevej 7 (postal code 2791 Dragør) in Store Magleby, which has enough space for such a large building. Krøyers Plads
Krøyers Plads is a waterfront mixed-use development in the Christianshavn neighbourhood of central Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located between Wilders Plads to the south and Grønlandske Handels Plads to the north. The current buildings were completed in 2016 and are inspired by the historic warehouses that dominate the waterfront. The northern part of the area was acquired by the Royal Greenland Trade Department in the 1790s and became known as Grønlandske Handels Plads. Peter Mærsk Møller
Peter Mærsk Møller (22 September 1836 – 9 February 1927) was a Danish sea captain and the father of Arnold Peter Møller, founder of the Maersk corporation, and grandfather of Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller, who made Maersk the largest container ship operator and supply vessel operator in the world. Career He passed his merchant officer's examination at Flensborg Navigation School and became a captain in 1861. His first assignment was the ship ''Prima'' in 1862. After the Second Schleswig War in 1864, Rømø, as Flensborg, passed under Prussian rule (and from 1871 German territory; Rømø remained so until 1920, and Flensborg – now Flensburg – still is a German city), so Captain Mærsk Møller moved to Dragør, only a few kilometres to the east of Copenhagen. Slapton Sands
Slapton is a village and civil parish in the South Hams district of Devon, England. It is located near the A379 road between Kingsbridge and Dartmouth, and lies within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The nearby beach is Slapton Sands; despite its name, it is not a sandy beach but a shingle one. In 1901 the population of the civil parish was 527, decreasing to 473 in 2001, and decreasing further to 434 at the 2011 census.
