Hans Munthe-Kaas
Hans Zanna Kaas (noble family), Munthe-Kaas (born 28 March 1961) is a Norway, Norwegian mathematician at the University of Bergen, and UiT The Arctic University of Norway working in the area of computational mathematics in the borderland between pure and applied mathematics and computer science. He took his PhD at the Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1989, called to full Professor 1997 and has since 2005 been Professor of Mathematics. Since 2021 he is also working at UiT The Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø where he heads the newly established [Http://WWW.lie-stormer.no Lie-Størmer Center] for fundamental structures in computational and pure mathematics. Northallerton
Northallerton ( ) is a market town and civil parish in the Hambleton District of North Yorkshire, England. It lies in the Vale of Mowbray and at the northern end of the Vale of York. It had a population of 16,832 in the 2011 census, an increase from 15,741 in 2001. It has served as the county town of the North Riding of Yorkshire and, since 1974, of North Yorkshire. The Abel Prize ( ; no, Abelprisen ) is awarded annually by the King of Norway to one or more outstanding mathematicians. It is named after the Norwegian mathematician Niels Henrik Abel (1802–1829) and directly modeled after the Nobel Prizes.
