Hans Klodt
Hans Klodt (10 June 1914 – 7 November 1996) was a German football player. He was the older brother of Bernhard Klodt. He was born in Gelsenkirchen., Club career Like his brother, he played for FC Schalke 04 where between 1936 and 1948 he stood in goal. In 1937 he won the German Bundesliga as well as the DFB-Pokal, Tschammer Cup. In 1942 and 1943, he was replaced by Heinz Flotho due to a war injury, and thus missed winning the championship in 1942. His career began not at Schalke 04 but at BV Gelsenkirchen. In 1948, he left Schalke for Beckum, Germany, Beckum, where he played until 1955. The Germany national football team played its first international match on 5 April 1908 during the era of the German Empire, losing 5–3 to Switzerland in Basel. Beckum, Germany
Beckum (; Westphalian: ''Biäkem'') is a town in the northern part of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is about 20 km (12 miles) north-east of Hamm and 35 km (22 miles) south-east of Münster. It gives its name to the nearby Beckum Hills. History Several Neolithic stone cists are the earliest traces of humans in the area around the three brooks, Kollenbach, Lippbach and Siechenbach. Because of these three brooks, the town was eventually named Bekehem or later Beckum, meaning "home upon the brooks". In 1224, Beckum was granted its town charter, and it quickly grew in wealth as merchants and craftsmen set up businesses in the town. The DFB-Pokal ( is a German knockout football cup competition held annually by the German Football Association (DFB). Sixty-four teams participate in the competition, including all clubs from the Bundesliga and the 2. Bundesliga. It is considered the second-most important club title in German football after the Bundesliga championship. Taking place from August until May, the winner qualifies for the DFL-Supercup and the UEFA Europa League unless the winner already qualifies for the UEFA Champions League in the Bundesliga. The competition was founded in 1935, then called the '' Tschammer-Pokal''. The first titleholders were 1. FC Nürnberg. In 1937, Schalke 04 were the first team to win the double.
