Hans G. Jensen
Hans G. Jensen (13 March 1856 – 7 September 1922) was a Norwegian trade unionist, politician, and tailor. Jensen was born in Horsens, Denmark in 1856. He moved to Sandefjord, Norway in 1879, before settling in Kristiania in 1883. He became involved in the Norwegian labour movement, and was the leader of the Norwegian Labour Party from 1888 to 1889. He co-founded the Norwegian Union of Tailors in 1892, and became the first leader of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions The Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions ( no, Landsorganisasjonen i Norge, LO) is a national trade union center, decidedly the largest and probably the most influential umbrella organization of labour unions in Norway. Christian Holtermann Knudsen
Christian Holtermann Knudsen (15 July 1845 – 21 April 1929) was a Norwegian typographer, newspaper editor, publisher, trade unionist and politician for the Norwegian Labour Party. He is known as chairman of his party in three non-consecutive periods, and also founded what would become the main party newspaper. He served three terms in the Norwegian Parliament. Career Media and trade unions He was born in Bergen as the son of a cooper. He finished a typographer's education in 1865, and worked for several printing presses in Kristiania. Most notably he worked for the weekly newspaper '' Almuevennen'', as typographer for six years and manager for eight years. In 1872 he was among the co-founders of the trade union Oslo Typografiske Forening. Anders Andersen (Norway)
Anders Andersen (22 October 1846 – 1 September 1931) was a saw mill worker who participated in forming the Norwegian Labour Party. Anders Andersen was born just outside Hønefoss in Ringerike, Norway. Around 1868, he moved to Arendal in Aust-Agder and lived there for 20 years. He was member of a recently founded local labour group called Samhold when he somewhat coincidentally became the first party leader in 1887. The labour group Samhold soon after ceased to exist due to local circumstances and it was not represented at the next party congress. In 1889, Andersen moved from Arendal and settled at Røyken in Buskerud where he worked as a farm manager. He continued to be active in the labor movement, as a member of the municipal council and trade unionist.
