Hans Eng
Hans Eng (22 March 1907 – 18 May 1995) was a Norwegian physician and Nazi collaborator during World War II. World War II In 1940 he called for Norwegian soldiers in the Norwegian Campaign to lay down their weapons. He volunteered for front service in Germanic SS Norway, but was never at the front. He was the private physician for Vidkun Quisling and his family, chief physician for Nasjonal Samling's department of public health, police physician with the title of "police inspector", physician in the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation and physician at Bredtveit concentration camp. According to Julius Paltiel he was unwilling to treat the Jews incarcerated at Bredtveit. He was also present as a medical expert at several executions, including that of Gunnar Eilifsen in August 1943. However, he was feared mainly as a police informer. Collaboration With Nazi Germany And Fascist Italy
In World War II, many governments, organizations and individuals collaborated with the Axis powers, "out of conviction, desperation, or under coercion." Nationalists sometimes welcomed German or Italian troops, believing they brought liberation from colonization. The Danish, and Belgian and Vichy French governments attempted to appease or bargain with the invaders, in hopes of mitigating harm to their citizens and economies. Some countries cooperated with Italy and Germany because they wanted to regain territory lost during and after the First World War or which their nationalist citizens simply coveted. Others, such as France, already had strong fascist movements and/or anti-semitic sentiment, which the invaders validated and empowered. Dick Zeiner-Henriksen
Richard Zeiner-Henriksen ( 1 August 1924 – 12 May 2016) was a Norwegian businessperson and resistance member during World War II. World War II On 9 April 1940, Nazi Germany invaded and occupied Norway as a part of World War II. Young Zeiner-Henriksen became a member of the Norwegian Independent Company 1 ( no, Kompani Linge). From 1943 to 1944, he co-operated with Max Manus and Oslogjengen and, from 1944 to 1945, he participated in the Special Operations Executive operation GREBE in Dovrefjell and Rondane. He participated in the May 1944 sabotage of Arbeidstjenesten's offices. He obtained copy of the door key to the address ''Wergelandsveien 3'' (via an imprint in plastilina) together with Roy Nielsen. Nielsen was in charge of the strike towards ''Wergelandsveien 3'', but the mission was called off because there were people present at the office. Bredtvet is a neighborhood in the borough of Bjerke in Oslo, Norway. The area is located on a ridge between the neighborhoods of Veitvet to the west and Kalbakken to the east. Asbjørn Sunde
Asbjørn Edvin Sunde (12 December 1909 – 23 April 1985) was a Norwegian politician for the Communist Party of Norway, communist partisan during the Spanish Civil War, saboteur against the Nazi occupation of Norway during the Second World War, and a convicted Soviet spy. During the Second World War, from 1941 to 1944, Sunde's group, the ''Osvald Group'', carried out approximately 39 acts of sabotage and assassination against the German occupation forces and Norwegian collaborators. In 1954 he was convicted by Eidsivating Court of Appeal of treason and espionage in favour of the Soviet Union, and sentenced to eight years in prison. He was released from prison in 1959 after serving two thirds of his sentence. He was expelled from the Communist Party of Norway in 1970. Early life Sunde had served a 30-month stint in the Royal Norwegian Navy, rising to non-commissioned officer rank in 1930. He was trained as both a first mate, a navigator and a gunner.
