Burfjord ( fkv, Puruvuono; sme, Buvrovuotna) is a village that is the administrative centre of Kvænangen Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The European route E6 highway goes through the municipality and over the Sørstraumen Bridge, and many people stop at the Kvænangsfjellet pass to view the scenery of the Kvænangen fjord. Burfjord Church ( no, Burfjord kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Kvænangen Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. It is located in the village of Burfjord. It is one of the churches for the Kvænangen parish which is part of the Nord-Troms prosti ( deanery) in the Diocese of Nord-Hålogaland. The white, wooden church was built in a rectangular style and it was first used as a ''bedehus'' chapel for a Laestadian congregation. On 5 July 2009, it was consecrated as a new church within the Church of Norway. The church seats about 80 people. Reindeer Herding
Reindeer herding is when reindeer are herded by people in a limited area. Currently, reindeer are the only semi-domesticated animal which naturally belongs to the North. Reindeer herding is conducted in nine countries: Norway, Finland, Sweden, Russia, Greenland, Alaska (the United States), Mongolia, China and Canada. A small herd is also maintained in Scotland. Reindeer herding is conducted by individuals within some kind of cooperation, in forms such as families, districts, Sámi and Yakut villages and sovkhozy (collective farms). Kven People
Kvens (; fi, kveeni; no, kvenar, kvener; sv, kväner; se, kveanat) are a Baltic Finnic peoples, Balto-Finnic ethnic minority in Norway. They are descended from Finnish people, Finnish peasants and fishermen who emigrated from the northern parts of Finland and Sweden to Northern Norway in the 18th and 19th centuries. In 1996, Kvens were granted minority status in Norway, and in 2005 the Kven language was recognized as a minority language in Norway.
