Hanover S-Bahn
The Hanover S-Bahn (in German: ''S-Bahn Hannover'') is an S-Bahn network operated by DB Regio and Transdev Hannover in the area of Hanover in the German state capital of Lower Saxony. It went operational shortly before Expo 2000 and is focused on the Hanover region, and also connects with adjacent districts (Celle, Hameln-Pyrmont, Hildesheim, Nienburg and Schaumburg), and into the state of North Rhine-Westphalia (Minden, Paderborn). The S-Bahn is an evolution of a suburban railway. The S-Bahn has ten lines in Hanover. It is distinguished from the Hannover Stadtbahn, which emerged from the Hannover tram network. In addition, there are other rail passenger services in the region composed of Regional-Express and Regionalbahn services. It is mainly operated with Class 424 electric multiple units. DBAG Class 424
The Class 424 is a class of electric multiple units in use on the Hanover S-Bahn network. Description They are similar to Deutsche Bahn's Class 425 and Class 423 trainsets, but feature a comparatively low floor height of to allow step-free access on platforms. Celle (district)
Celle () is a district (''Landkreis'') in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is bounded by (from the north and clockwise) the districts of Uelzen, Gifhorn, Hanover and Heidekreis. Hannover Hauptbahnhof (German for ''Hanover main station'') is the main railway station for the city of Hanover in Lower Saxony, Germany. The railway junction is one of the 21 stations listed as a railway Category 1 station by DB Station&Service. It is also the most important public transport hub of the region of Hanover and it is served regional and S-Bahn services. The station has six platforms with twelve platform tracks, and two through tracks without platforms. In Germany, Luxembourg and Austria, the Regional-Express (RE, or in Austria: REX) is a type of regional train. The Hanover Stadtbahn is a Stadtbahn ( light rail) system in the city of Hanover, Lower Saxony, Germany. Paderborn Hauptbahnhof is the main passenger station in the city of Paderborn in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is located on the Hamm–Warburg line, part of the ''Mid-Germany Connection'' from Cologne or Düsseldorf to Thuringia and Saxony. The Senne Railway branches off to Bielefeld in Paderborn.
