Hannes Gebhard
Hannes Gebhard (8 April 1864 – 23 February 1933) was a Finland, Finnish economist, Cooperative, cooperative movement activist and politician. He was a member of the Parliament of Finland from 1907 to 1909, representing the Finnish Party. He was born in Kemijärvi, and was married to Hedvig Gebhard. He is buried in the Hietaniemi Cemetery in Helsinki. Hietaniemi Cemetery
The Hietaniemi cemetery ( fi, Hietaniemen hautausmaa, sv, Sandudds begravningsplats) is located mainly in the Lapinlahti quarter and partly in the Etu-Töölö district of Helsinki, the capital of Finland. It is the location for Finnish state funeral services and is owned by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland. The cemetery includes a large military cemetery section for soldiers from the capital fallen in the wars against the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany: in the Winter War (1939–1940), the Continuation War (1941–1944) and the Lapland War (1944–1945). In the centre of the military cemetery are the tombs of the unknown soldier and Marshal C. G. E. Mannerheim. Other notable sections of the cemetery are the cemetery of the Finnish Guard, the Artist's Hill and the Statesmen's Grove. There are two Lutheran funerary chapels and a crematorium at the area. Hedvig Gebhard
Hedvig Maria Gebhard (née Silén; 14 December 1867 in Turku – 13 January 1961 in Helsinki) was a Finland, Finnish journalist and politician. She was an elected member of the Parliament of Finland, representing the Finnish Party from 1907 to 1909 and the National Coalition Party from 1919 to 1922 and again from 1924 to 1929. Life and work Born in Turku, Finland, Hedvig Gebhard came from a Swedish-speaking home. Her father was August Oskar Silén who began life as a poor shoemaker but made his fortune by virtue of hard work. Her mother was Hedvig Josephina Palmberg. Hedvig, also called Heddi, could not graduate from school in Finland because they were restricted to boys, so she continued her studies at the Lyceum for girls in Stockholm, Sweden. She graduated from nearby Uppsala University in 1889.
