Hannah Brier
Hannah Brier (born 3 February 1998) is a British sprinter who won the 200 metres event at the 2022 British Indoor Athletics Championships. She competed at the 2014 and 2022 Commonwealth Games. Career Brier trains at Swansea Harriers Athletics Club, and has previously competed for Loughborough. As a youngster, Brier held seven Welsh age groups records, including in the long jump event. In May 2014, Brier, Mica Moore, Hannah Thomas, and Rachel Johncock broke the Welsh 4 × 100 metres relay national record at the Loughborough International event. At the age of 16, she competed for Wales at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. It was her first senior level international competition. She was initially only selected for the 4 × 100 metres relay event, but was later additionally chosen for the individual 100 metres competition. Wales At The 2014 Commonwealth Games
Wales competed at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. Prior to the games the Commonwealth Games Council for Wales set itself a target of 27 medals, surpassing the 2010 total of 20 medals won in Delhi. After the withdrawal of World champion competitors Helen Jenkins, Non Stanford and Becky James, Chef de Mission Brian Davies conceded that the initial target was optimistic, but the target was actually attained by 30 July, the sixth day of the competition. Wales finished 13th in the overall medal table (ranked in order of the number of ''gold'' medals won), but joint 8th, with Nigeria, in terms of the total medals won. Wales finished with 36 medals, making the team the most successful Welsh squad in Commonwealth Games history. The European Athletic Association (more commonly known as European Athletics) is the governing body for Sport of athletics, athletics in Europe. 2016 IAAF World U20 Championships
The 2016 World U20 Championships in Athletics was an international athletics competition for athletes qualifying as juniors (born no earlier than 1 January 1997) which was held at Zdzisław Krzyszkowiak Stadium in Bydgoszcz, Poland on 19–24 July 2016. It was the first time the competition had been held under the new name, having previously been known as World Junior Championships in Athletics. The championships were originally awarded to Kazan, Russia before the hosting rights were withdrawn as a result of ARAF being suspended by the IAAF. Since then, three cities expressed an interest in hosting the championships; on 7 January 2016, the decision was made to reallocate the championships to Bydgoszcz as it was the only city to submit a bid. The medal table was topped by the United States with 11 gold, 6 silver, and 4 bronze medals, followed by Kenya and Ethiopia.
