Handful Of Stars
''Handful of Stars'' (Ukrainian: ''Пригорща Зірок'', ''Pryhorshcha Zirok'') is the eighth full-length album by Ukrainian black metal band Drudkh, released in 2010 on Season of Mist's Underground Activists label. The guitar sound on this album is significantly cleaner than that on any previous album the band had released, with the exception of the band's folk album ''Songs of Grief and Solitude''. Critics and fans noticed a strong influence from post-rock and such bands as Alcest. Due to these features the record received mixed reviews, though it appeared in ''Haunting the Chapel'' Top 50 Albums of 2010 at the number 8 position. Again, for lyrics was used the poetry of Ukrainian authors, such as Oleksa Stefanovych and Svyatoslav Gordynskyj. Drudkh
Drudkh is a Ukrainian black metal band. It currently consists of (former member of Hate Forest and Dark Ages), Thurios (former member of Astrofaes), Krechet, and Vlad. All four also belonged to Blood of Kingu until it was disbanded. Their lyrics and artistic themes embrace Slavic mythology and Ukrainian nationalism. Many of the band's lyrics are derived from the works of nineteenth- and twentieth-century Ukrainian poets (Oleksandr Oles, Oleh Olzhych, Maik Yohansen, etc.) and especially Taras Shevchenko. Drudkh have been particularly secretive throughout the course of their career, even for a black metal band, giving no interviews and not releasing the lyrics to several of their albums. ''Songs of Grief and Solitude'' ( uk, Пісні Скорботи і Самітності, translit=Pisni skorboty і samitnosti, italic=yes), is the fifth album by Ukrainian black metal band Drudkh, released in 2006. It marks a radical departure from previous Drudkh works in that all songs are entirely acoustic, arranged in the manner of traditional Ukrainian folk. Several songs contain elements of previous Drudkh material: "Tears of Gods" contains elements of "Fate", "The Milky Way" is a rearranged version of "Blood" and "Archaic Dance" references "Glare of 1768", all three of which originally appeared on ''The Swan Road''. "Why the Sun Becomes Sad" contains elements of "Sunwheel" from ''Autumn Aurora'', and "The Cranes Will Never Return Here" is an acoustic rendition of the opening riff from the ''Blood in Our Wells'' track "Solitude". Fursy Teyssier
Fursy Teyssier (born 22 September 1985) is a French songwriter, singer, multi-instrumentalist musician, album cover artist and animated film director. He is most known for being the creator, leader, guitarist, bass guitarist and lead vocalist of shoegazing band Les Discrets. He is currently live bass guitarist for Empyrium. He is also the former guitarist and bass guitarist of Amesoeurs, and the former live bassist of Alcest (he also composed and performed "Abysses" in ''Écailles de Lune''). Since 27 December 2015 he is a live member of German gothic metal band The Vision Bleak; he previously directed the music video for their song "The Wood Hag". As a cover artist, he has made cover art for most of Alcest and Les Discrets' albums, and for various other bands, including Agalloch and Morbid Angel. He also directed several animated short films. Alcest
Alcest is a French post-black metal band from Bagnols-sur-Cèze, founded and led by Neige (Stéphane Paut). It began in 2000 as a black metal solo project by Neige, soon a trio, but following the release of their first demo in 2001, band members Aegnor and Argoth left the band, leaving Neige as the sole member. In 2009 drummer Winterhalter from Les Discrets joined Alcest's line-up, after eight years with Neige as the sole full-time member. Since its creation, Alcest has released six studio albums and a number of EPs and split releases.
