Hamsalekha
Gangaraju (born June 23, 1951), professionally known as Hamsalekha, is an Indian film composer and a songwriter who works in South Indian cinema, predominantly in the Kannada film industry since the late 1980s. He is also a screenplay writer, dialogue writer, instrumentalist and a conductor, composed and written for over 500 feature films. Also regarded as one of the greatest music composers of all time in history. Hamsalekha has won one National Film Awards and six Filmfare Awards in the Best Music Director Category; seven Karnataka State Film Awards - four for music direction and three for lyrics - and is a recipient of an honorary doctorate from Bangalore University. Latha Hamsalekha
Latha, commonly known as Latha Hamsalekha, is an Indian playback singer in Kannada. She is the wife of composer Hamsalekha. For her song ''Aa Arunodaya Chanda'' in the movie ''Arunodaya'', Latha was awarded the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer in 1999–2000. Personal life Latha was born in Bangalore to Mitrananda Kumar and Sharada. She married Hamsalekha and they have a son and two daughters. ''Premaloka'' in Kannada (), ''Paruva Ragam'' in Tamil (), is a 1987 bilingual romantic musical film, written and directed by V. Ravichandran in his directorial debut based on the 1982 movie ''Grease 2''. He additionally served as the lead actor and producer under Eshwari Productions. Produced simultaneously in Kannada and Tamil, the film stars V. Ravichandran in the lead role alongside debutant Juhi. ''Aakasmika'' () is a 1993 Indian Kannada language action thriller film directed by T. S. Nagabharana. The film stars Rajkumar, Geetha and Madhavi. The film was based on Ta Ra Su's trilogy ''Aakasmika – Aparadhi – Parinama'' thereby becoming the second Kannada movie to be based on three novels, the first being 1973 movie ''Naagarahaavu'' which incidentally was based on three novels of the same writer. '' Sparsha '' () is a 2000 Indian Kannada-language romance film written and directed by Sunil Kumar Desai. It stars Sudeep, Rekha and Sudha Rani. Kannada cinema, also known as Sandalwood, or Chandanavana, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Kannada language widely spoken in the state of Karnataka. The 1934 film '' Sati Sulochana'' directed by Y. V. Rao was the first talkie film in the Kannada language. It was also the first film starring Subbaiah Naidu and Tripuramba, and was the first motion picture screened in the erstwhile Mysore Kingdom. Sufi Music
Sufi music refers to the devotional music of the Sufis, inspired by the works of Sufi poets like Rumi, Hafiz, Bulleh Shah, Amir Khusrow, and Khwaja Ghulam Farid. Qawwali is the best-known form of Sufi music and is most commonly found in the Sufi culture in South Asia. However, music is also central to the Sema ceremony of the whirling dervishes, which is set to a form of music called Ayin, a vocal and instrumental piece featuring Turkish classical instruments such as the ney (a reed flute).
