Hale is a surname. Lords of Loddon-Hales, Hale or "De Halys" trace back to Lord Roger De Halys circa 1130; his descendant Lord Roger De Halys married Alice Scrogins circa 1275, and their daughter Alice Hale married Thomas of Brotherton, 1st Earl of Norfolk, the son of Edward I of England. Those who were the ancestors of William Hale who married Rose Bond of Kingswaldenbury, their grandson George Hale (a drummer) came to America on the ship "Supply" in 1620, where he lived with the governor Sir Francis Wyatt of Virginia. Other Hale descendants also use the noble title Earl of Tenterden, Viscount of Tinsdall and the Baronets Of Beakesbourne and Coventry. Thomas Of Brotherton, 1st Earl Of Norfolk
Thomas of Brotherton, 1st Earl of Norfolk (1 June 13004 August 1338), was the fifth son of King Edward I of England (1239–1307), and the eldest child by his second wife, Margaret of France, the daughter of King Philip III of France. He was, therefore, a younger half-brother of King Edward II (reigned 1307–1327) and a full brother of Edmund of Woodstock, 1st Earl of Kent. He occupied the office of Earl Marshal of England. Early life Thomas of Brotherton was born 1 June 1300 at the manor house at Brotherton, Yorkshire, while his mother was on her way to Cawood, where her confinement was scheduled to take place. According to Hilton, Margaret was staying at Pontefract Castle and was following a hunt when she went into labour. Brenda Hale, Baroness Hale Of Richmond
Brenda Marjorie Hale, Baroness Hale of Richmond, (born 31 January 1945) is a British judge who served as President of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom from 2017 until her retirement in 2020, and serves as a member of the House of Lords as a Lord Temporal. In 2004, she joined the House of Lords as a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary. She is the only woman to have been appointed to that position. She served as a Law Lord until 2009 when she, along with the other Law Lords, transferred to the new Supreme Court as a result of the Constitutional Reform Act 2005. She served as Deputy President of the Supreme Court from 2013 to 2017. On 5 September 2017, Hale was appointed under the premiership of Theresa May to serve as President of the Supreme Court, and was sworn in on 2 October 2017. DeMarlo Hale
DeMarlo Hale (born July 16, 1961) is an American professional baseball coach who is currently serving as bench coach for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball (MLB). Hale played minor league baseball from 1983 to 1988 in the Boston Red Sox and Oakland Athletics organizations. Biography Following his playing career, Hale, a graduate of Chicago's CVS High School, worked at the Bucky Dent baseball school in Boca Raton, Florida from 1989 through 1992, when he became a coach for Double-A New Britain in the Eastern League. Hale started his managerial career in 1993 in the Boston farm system with High-A Fort Lauderdale Red Sox in the Florida State League. Damian Hale
Damian Francis Hale (born 28 December 1969) is a former Australian Labor Party member of the Australian House of Representatives, representing the Division of Solomon from 2007 to 2010. He moved to the Northern Territory in 1974 and grew up in Maningrida, Katherine and Darwin, with his teacher parents, Bob and Bev Hale. While growing up he was actively involved in sports, representing the Northern Territory in rugby league and Australian rules football. He later coached St Mary's Football Club to three premierships (2003-5) in the Northern Territory Football League. He has five children. Clive Norman Hale (15 November 1937 – 5 June 2005) was an Australian television presenter, best known for his 38-year association with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Charles Hale (1831–1882) of Boston was an American legislator and diplomat. Intermittently from 1855 to 1877, he served in the Massachusetts state House and Senate. He was Speaker of the House in 1859. In the 1860s he lived in Cairo, Egypt, as the American consul-general. From 1872 to 1873 he worked as United States Assistant Secretary of State under Hamilton Fish. Biography Hale was born in Boston on June 7, 1831, to Nathan Hale and Sarah Preston Everett.
